University of Missouri Votes to Fire Professor Who Confronted Student Reporters

clickRemember Melissa Click, the University of Missouri professor caught on video harassing a student reporter and calling for some “muscle” to get him removed? Well, she’s been fired.

According to The Columbia Tribune, the University of Missouri board of curators voted 4-2 to fire her.

Chairwoman Pam Henrickson explained, “Dr. Click was not entitled to interfere with the rights of others, to confront members of law enforcement or to encourage potential physical intimidation against a student.”

Reporters were trying to capture video and photos of the protest happening on campus, but Click was one of many telling them to stop because it threatened their safe space.

Click apologized for harassing the reporters. She was charged last month with third-degree assault.
