The Internet has since moved on from the #PlaneBreakup to CCTV footage from an art museum in Taiwan, where a young boy tripped and fell into a rather expensive 17th-century oil painting.
Art lovers, look away.
As the Telegraph reports, the 12-year-old kid — unhealthy-looking soda-like drink in hand, of course — lost his bearings and fell into Paolo Porpora’s “Flowers.” He stopped his fall short with his fist-bound soda, adding carbonated insult to injury in the process of damaging the painting reportedly worth $1.5 million. It all took place at Huashan 1914 Creative Park in Taipei on Sunday, where a Leonardo da Vinci exhibit was currently showing.
Curator Andrea Rossi said the boy was “nervous” about being blamed for the incident. However, the Porpora painting is part of a private collection, fully insured and already undergoing restoration.
