DHS Boss Mullin Claims 250,000 ‘Non-Citizens’ Registered to Vote in Democrat-Run States

DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin accused four Democrat-run states of having 250,000 “non-citizens” registered to vote during a Friday morning press conference.

Mullin said a DHS review found the quarter million bogus registrations were found in California, New Jersey, Nevada, and Pennsylvania — all states with Democratic governors. The DHS boss called for the states to review their records ASAP, and threatened state election officials with being thrown in the clink if they did not help the federal government crackdown on illegal voters.

“If the election officials, once we gave them the information they need to secure their elections, and they chose not to, then those individuals can also be held accountable by fines, by penalties and even, depending on how far it goes, prison time,” Mullin said.

He pointed out there are 46 other states where election fraud could be taking place during his news conference, although Mullin did not say whether his department would be expanding its probe.

Mullin then posted on X the letters he was sending to each of the states, putting them “on notice” to review voter records. He said DHS was “ready to support” the states in their investigations and offer additional records for cross-verification purposes.

“I hope that you share in the commitment to ensure that only U.S. citizens participate in our federal elections,” Mullin wrote in each letter. “Allowing just one non-citizen to vote cancels the vote of one U.S. citizen.”

Mullin demanded states run their voter rolls through a federal database maintained by DHS to determine if noncitizens were on lists and said if they don’t, they won’t be able to access federal grants.

But the use of the DHS database — which was historically for assessing immigration benefits — has been blocked by a federal judge, who ruled that repurposing it for this effort violated rules on the disclosure of Social Security records. The database has also proved to be error-prone when used to evaluate voter rolls. It often flags newly naturalized citizens as noncitizen voters. Voting rights experts say the use of the database is flawed and could result in registered voters purged from rolls.

Mullin’s letter said a preliminary DHS review showed California was the state with the most problems, with up to 190,832 illegally-registered voters.

Fox News reported the DHS looked at “names, dates of birth, addresses and Social Security numbers” to calculate its figures. Mullin’s press conference came a day after President Donald Trump’s White House released an FBI file claiming China’s communist government fabricated “tens of thousands” of drivers licenses to help Joe Biden win the 2020 election.
