‘That’s F*cking Bullsh*t!’ Atlanta Falcons Coach BERATES His Opponent for Running Up the Score in Nasty Postgame Scene
An NFL coach got HEATED with his counterpart on the opposing sidelines after a gesture he considered unsportsmanlike.
It happened at the conclusion of the Atlanta Falcons-New Orleans Saints game Sunday. The Saints had the ball on the Falcons’ 1-yard-line with just over one minute left in the contest and held an insurmountable 41-17 lead. They lined up as though their quarterback was going to kneel, which would have been the more sporting gesture. But instead, they ran up the score by handing the ball off to running back Jamaal Williams, who punched it in for an unnecessary score to put the Saints up 48-17.
“Oh man!” CBS’ Matt Ryan said.
“That’s amazing!” Ryan’s colleague Tiki Barber added.
“Not if you’re a Falcons fan,” play-by-play announcer Andrew Catalon replied.
And Atlanta coach Arthur Smith was not pleased.
After the final whistle, he approached opposing coach Dennis Allen in the middle of the field. And instead of the customary postgame handshake, Smith berated Allen for running up the score.
“That’s fucking bullshit!” Smith told Allen.
“I understand that,” Allen replied.
CBS’ Catalon, for his part, stood with Smith.
“He is hot!” Catalon said of Smith, adding, “I think he’s got a right … to do that.”
Wait ’til next season!
