Conor McGregor Takes Over Trump White House for St. Paddy’s Day: ‘We Couldn’t Think of a Better Guest’

MMA fighter Conor McGregor roamed the White House grounds on Monday morning as the Trump administration celebrated Saint Patrick’s Day.

The controversial UFC star was welcomed to the White House with open arms on Monday. He toured the premises and took questions in the briefing room ahead of a meeting with President Donald Trump.

Just before 10 a.m. ET, The verified White House X page shared a seven-second clip of McGregor, 36, walking out of the White House.

“Happy Saint Patty’s Day, America,” he said.

The White House commented, “HAPPY SAINT PATRICK’S DAY FROM CONOR MCGREGOR AT THE WHITE HOUSE!”

The MMA fighter was later filmed in the Briefing Room, where he said the Irish viewed the U.S. as an elder sibling while standing alongside White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.

“It’s important for Ireland to have a peaceful, happy prosperous country,” he told reporters. “We wish to be taken care of by the big bro! You know, the United States should look after its little bro, and that’s how we feel.”

McGregor added, “I’m here to raise the issues the people of Ireland face. Our government has long since abandoned the voices of the people of Ireland and it’s high time America is made aware of what is going on in Ireland.”

The MMA fighter accused his country’s government of misappropriating its people’s tax dollars and said that immigrants had taken over the homeland of 40 million Americans with Irish blood.

Leavitt then told reporters the Trump administration could not think of a better Irish guest to host for Saint Patrick’s Day.

“I will say Conor is here to meet with the president,” she said. “He’ll be meeting with him later this afternoon. We couldn’t think of a better guest to have with us on Saint Patrick’s Day. We’re both wearing our green – this was not planned.”

Leavitt added that McCregor would meet with members of Trump’s cabinet as he kicked off his day in Washington.

McGregor, who was accused of sexual assault in Miami after a 2023 NBA Finals game, is being sued in the US.

Six weeks ago, he tweeted and deleted an attack against MMA rival Khabib Nurmagomedov that was laden with racial slurs.
