Trump Suggests No U.S. Intervention in Israel-Hamas War: ‘There’s No Hatred Like the Palestinian Hatred of Israel’

Former President Donald Trump pitched a hands-off approach to the situation in Israel by suggesting there’s nothing to do now but allow the war to play out between Israel and Hamas.

In Trump’s interview with Univision’s Enrique Acevedo, the conversation turned to the destruction of Gaza as the former president was asked how the U.S. can prevent further loss of civilian life.

“You have a war that’s going on, and you are probably gonna have to let this play out,” Trump said. He repeated, “You’re probably gonna have to let it play out.”

After speculating about whether it would be possible to negotiate peace between Israel and Palestine, Trump moved into talking about how “the hatred is so incredible” between the two peoples.

“They learn to hate Jewish people in the earliest forms of school,” said Trump. “There is no hatred like the Palestinian hatred of Israel and Jewish people. And probably the other way around, also. I don’t know, you don’t know, it’s not as obvious, but probably that’s it too. So sometimes you have to let things play out, and you have to see where it ends.”

Trump also used the interview to allude to his previous claim that the terror group wouldn’t have attacked Israel if he was still president. His remarks also follow the ongoing debate about whether the U.S. should pursue a ceasefire in Gaza or a more temporary humanitarian pause to help civilians caught in the middle of the conflict.
