On Monday night, the holiday season came early for Stephen Colbert as he rejoiced the recent indictments made by Special Counsel Robert Mueller.
‘I know it’s almost Halloween, but it really feels more like Christmas,” Colbert grinned.
The Late Show host noted that the charges against Paul Manafort were filed on Friday but that he didn’t have to turn himself in until today.
“Wow, we white people really do get arrested differently,” he quipped.
“What’s that crime usually called again? Colbert asked. “I can’t remember for some treason.”
He then had some fun at the expense of former Trump campaign foreign policy advisor George Papadopoulos, which he called the charges against him “papadopo-damning” and mentioned that he repeatedly tried to arrange a meeting between Trump campaign and Russian government officials.
“You can’t do that!” Colbert exclaimed. “That’s Don Jr.‘s job!”
