Fox News’ Sean Hannity took a moment to sympathize with Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), the man accused of turning a blind eye to the molestation of Ohio State University wrestlers during his time as their assistant coach.
Hannity contended it was all just a setup.
“Welcome to the club,” he told Jordan at the start of an interview Thursday. “If you support Donald Trump, you had to know the lies, the smears against you are obviously a political attack.”
Accepting Hannity’s defense, Jordan replied, “You been through it. You know what it’s like.”
“I know it every day,” Hannity said, bonding with the embattled lawmaker. “It’s all of us, anyone that supports the president, and I’m sorry you and your family have to go through that.”
Jordan is facing damning allegations he ignored the sexual abuse that is said to have occurred at the hands of the team’s doctor, Richard Strauss, claiming he wasn’t aware despite having reportedly heard discussions of the crimes.
Some former OSU wrestlers and conservatives are continuing to stand by Jordan, arguing the story is simply an effort to undermine his integrity and destroy his potential to become the next speaker of the House.
