‘Is This the Losers’ Office?’ SNL Destroys Jim Jordan for Failed Speaker Bid, Shows Trump Paying Him a Visit to Rub it in

Saturday Night Live took on Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) by mocking his doomed attempt to succeed Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House.

The show’s latest cold open began with Jordan seething over another speaker vote he failed to win. The congressman, portrayed, by Mikey Day, has a moment of self-awareness as he laments “All I want to do is get Congress back to work so I can shut it down again.”

With how upset and frustrated Jordan was with his failed bid, his fellow Republicans stopped by his office to cheer him up. After hearing from George Santos (played by Bowen Yang) and Lauren Boebert (Chloe Fineman), Jordan got a visit from Donald Trump (James Austin Johnson), who perked Jordan as only he can.

“Is this the losers’ office?” Trump introduced himself. Jordan welcomed the former president, recalling how Trump endorsed him, but then he mostly stayed on the sidelines while Jordan twisted in the wind.

“I prefer the Jordans who win, okay?” Trump said. “Like the great Michael Jordan. Or the even greater Jordin Sparks.”

Jordan fumed that he did what Trump would’ve done to get votes: “Intimidation, threats. Why didn’t it work?”

Trump’s answer: “Frankly, you’re not me.”

“You’re no fun, I’m hilarious… You’re little Jim Jordan, I’m Donald Trump, okay? I’m Coke, you’re Shasta.”

“But you endorsed me and I lost,” Jordan moaned again.

“Seems to be happening a lot,” Trump said.
