On Tuesday, excerpts from Bob Woodward‘s upcoming exposé on the White House were published by the Washington Post, sending Donald Trump into an obvious tailspin. On Wednesday, the New York Times published an op-ed written by a current “senior official in the Trump administration”, writing anonymously about the dangers of his own boss, the president.
NBC News Chief White House Correspondent Hallie Jackson appeared on MSNBC to report the temperature at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, and she did not disappoint: “One person close to the White House describes the president’s mood as ‘volcanic,'” she said.
Volcanic! That description comes after Trump spent a ceremony in the White House with a group of assembled sheriffs absolutely raging about the op-ed, calling the anonymous official “gutless” and the New York Times “failing”.
Minutes later on Twitter, Trump suggested the act amounted to “TREASON”.
“Treason, of course, is a crime punishable by death,” Jackson reminded on MSNBC.
