WATCH: Lou Dobbs Refers to Unite the Right 2 Rallygoers as ‘So-Called White Supremacists’ While Blasting Antifa
Lou Dobbs took a markedly-harsher approach to Antifa than he did with white supremacists on Monday night as he covered the events this weekend in Charlottesville, VA and Washington, D.C.
White nationalists led by Jason Kessler were largely outnumbered by counter-protesters over the last few days when they tried to hold a sequel to last year’s infamous Unite The Right rally in Charlottesville, VA. Some of these counter-protesters were affiliated with Antifa, and there were several who harassed reporters and clashed with law enforcement.
The counter-protests gave Dobbs enough fodder to work with, so he kicked off his show tonight by lambasting the “Antifa thugs” for their behavior. Dobbs acknowledged Kessler and his fellow demonstrators as “white nationalists” at first, but soon he softened up by referring to them as “so-called white supremacists” — while putting the focus back on “thuggery” of the counter-protesters who wished harm upon President Donald Trump.
A reminder: The Unite the Right 2 Rally was basically a commemorative celebration of a white-supremacist rally last year in which a protester, Heather Heyer, died after getting run over with a car.
