The BBC has fired BBC Three senior scheduling coordinator Dawn Queva after her antisemitic and racist comments surfaced on social media.

On Friday, posts on Facebook were discovered calling Jewish people “Nazi apartheid parasites” and ripping the Holocaust as a hoax. Deadline confirmed Queva was the author.

In a statement issued Sunday the broadcaster confirmed that Queva was no longer an employee and reiterated that as an organisation it “does not tolerate anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, or any form of abuse.”

Queva’s offensive posts have since been deleted, according to the BBC.

The broadcaster also took steps to reassure Jewish members of staff that they had the support they needed: “With regard to staff, their welfare is always paramount and we have well-established and robust processes in place to handle any issues, concerns or complaints raised with us, along with a range of support available to anyone who may need it.”

This move follows discussions around and scrutiny of the corporation’s coverage of the Israeli campaign in Gaza and the Hamas attacks on October 7th. This followed complaints of anti-semitism among staff and resulted in meetings led by the BBC’s director-general Tim Davie to address staff welfare.
