Operation Gunrunner was a Pilot Program out of the Laredo, TX office in 2005 and then expanded nationwide in 2006. Its primary purpose was to assist the Mexican Government in the implementation of the agency’s E-Trace system. E-Trace is a web-based program that allows various Law Enforcement Agencies (foreign and domestic) to access ATF’s firearm serial number database for the purpose of tracing firearms recovered at crime scenes or seized in raids.

Operation Fast and Furious was a sting operation.  Someone, or someones, at the ATF allowed the transfer of firearms to continue for the identification of additional suspects.

Not the same thing.  One’s a computer program; the other is a crime.  Besides, why would it matter when the Justice Department assisted in the murder of American law enforcement and Mexican nationals? A crime is a crime.

Well, if Operation Wide Receiver is similar, then maybe the liberals will get their chance at imprisoning some Bush Admins.  But this doesn’t change the facts behind Operation Fast and Furious.
