Harry Reid Crashes The Tea Party, Solidly Defeats Sharron Angle In “Huge Win”

In a big blow to the tea party, Senate Majority leader Harry Reid will defeat challenger Sharron Angle – and it looks like it could be by five or six points.

In a night of many GOP victories, the media, almost across the board, agreed it was a “huge win” for Democrats and “disastrous” for Republicans.

Fox News’ “campaign” Carl Cameron explained it as a “big win for Harry Reid in Nevada, and a huge win for Democrats in general,” as Reid avoided becoming the first majority leader in the last half century to lose. “This is a race where there’s going to be a lot of Monday Morning Quarterbacking regarding the tea party,” he said.

As Rachel Maddow put it on MSNBC, it is “such a disastrous loss for the Republicans it’s hard to overstate.”

Here’s Campaign Carl’s analysis, from FNC, and Maddow from MSNBC:

Unbelievable. I would have much preferred a Sestak win. Not a Reid fan at all here. But, Sharon Angle! What can we say? Congratulations Harry. Lard Limbaugh will be gain another 50 pounds trying to eat his way into denial.

I don’t think anyone could have predicted the results tonight a few months ago: It looks like each party is coming away from tonight with a good feeling. The Democrats because they avoid a catastrophic loss of power of both the Senate and House; The Republicans because they have acquired the gavel in the House. The future of politics in America is still uncertain.

The only thing Shaon Angle can demand is a paper or plastic bag at the grocery store.

She’ll be wandering the aisles like a crazy person the next year wondering what she did wrong to lose a race that the GOP spent tens of millions on.

She lost it ALL because she is a DANGEROUS IDIOT and the entire state of Nevada knew it and knows it.

To all those who did not understand what obama meant when he said republicans can ride at the back of the car and cant have the keys back, this is what he meant, republicans can have the house but democrats will keep the senate and the presidency,so democrats and the president will be infront with the presidency and senate, whiles the republican will be at the back with the house.republicans did not get the keys to the car which is both houses, but they can ride at the back, that is the congress.

Reid did not carry all of Nevada, the majority of counties did not want Reid. Nevada used to be a red state, until Welfare was cut in neighboring California and many poor people left Los Angeles to go work in Las Vegas casinos and brought their Liberal leanings with them.

I am amazed you always, always have to demonize hard-working American men and women, trying to support their families and trying to share in the American dream. You know, their sharing in the dream doesn’t mean your dreams are any less vivid.

I knew some crack-pot rightist zealot would like for some reason his or her wretched candidate lost. ACORN or the NBPP. Some other reason to be unaccountable. Reid won because of the inadequacies, the nuttiness, the insanity of Angle. Pure. Simple. Get off the backs of hard-working American men and women!

That explains much about our differences, Tim Z. Angst. The two cities in America I most despise are Las Vegas and Washington. Stifling. Pretentious. No sense of community. Give me New York, Boston, Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco, Austin, New Orleans, even Miami, Houston, Tucson, any day over Washington or Las Vegas. Of course, that is only a matter of taste.

You have to admit that with the O’Donnell, Angle, Fiorina, Miller loses and Haley near miss in a state in which she ought to have triumphed, the Drop Out Governor’s stock is down considerably. The candidates for whom she campaigned the hardest didn’t seem to do all that well.

I suspect Republican and Tea Party movers and shakers are patting themselves on the back today, as they should, whilst asking how they can get this woman off their backs. The burden is becoming too great.
