James Carville Blasts Obama Again On BP Oil Spill (Is He Auditioning For CNN 8pm?)

video

Not to be a cynic, but it’s starting to feel like James Carville is attempting to restart his pundit career (or perhaps has an eye on the 8 o’clock CNN spot) on the back of the BP Oil Spill catastrophe.

Carville, who has been making the media rounds this week, was back on the air this morning talking to former Clinton campaign co-worker George Stephanopoulos about the lack of action and accountability on both the part of BP Oil and the administration. Actually he was less talking than railing.

Eleven hard working people blown up as a result of corporate malfeasance, maybe criminal negligence of inept bureaucrats…maybe blame the previous administration for this and the president doesn’t get down here in the middle of this! His approval ratings would be up seven points right now if he’d come down here.

Emphasis mine, because that’s the sort of talk that actually motivates politicians. Carville’s practical advice continues: “Very seldom do you get really good politics and really the right thing to do.” Also: “[Obama] can’t exactly be filling the hole himself, but he can be commandeering tankers!” There’s more. Carville gets quite steamed up over the course of the segment. So much so, it makes me wonder if there is a show to be had for CNN wherein Carville and his wife Mary Matalin give the president dueling strategy advice. You can get a sense of what I am talking about below.

No, I don’t think he’s auditioning for CNN, I think he’s finding out that it’s great to cheerlead for the Dem’s until it’s your life they are screwing up.

Oh and he loves Hillary, so perhaps he’s setting the groudwork for a Hil challenge in 2012.

His approval ratings would be up seven points right now if he’d come down here; that Glynnis emphasized….remember Glynnis, Obama is going on Friday for his photo op.

As for CNN and Carville on during the 8pm hour? Even CNN is smarter than that, putting on a Carville during the 8pm hour isn’t going to get CNN any new viewers.

OMG Michelle….awesome. It’s kinda like the drunk Kennedy, I know which one right, that fought and fought the windmills off the coast. He fought and fought the windmills because he didn’t want them to screw his view up.

The country elected an ideologoue, not an executive. Mr. Obama dithers on numerous issues outside of his ideological baseline. Remember the long period of contemplation re what to do in afghanistan? Why the delay in sending troops to the border? Why the inactivity re unemployment?

Obama has an agenda–universal healthcare, tax the wealthy, strengthen the unions, give government a bigger role …. But stuff not on his agenda, he is ill-prepared to attack, and there are long delays even in the face of obvious urgency. This is just a newer proof point.

He is just showing his racism.

So that is what this is about, BHO’s ratings? The greatest natural disaster in US history; shores blanked with oil, wildlife dying and 11 dead men and what we need to think about is that BHO could get a 7 point bump if he came to La.?

    Great.

Liberty – Not Redistribution, yeah, that windmill outrage is one of my personal faves.

Is Carville on drugs? Last night he was giving Obama a pass, blaming everything on his “advisors”. I guess now that Obama is screwing with his backyard and it has become personal, he is beginning to realize what many of us knew all along, Obama is unqualified for this job. Sounds like James is beginning to panic.

I just hope he quits talking about how “heads need to roll”. That level of violent rhetoric has no place in our civil discourse. It almost appears as if he is advocating violence against presidential advisers. I hope his hateful and violent rhetoric doesn’t influence any left-wing crazies to attempt to take the head of anyone that has advised BHO on the oil slick.

i agree with JohnSimpson, its now obvious that Carville is a “racist” too.

Carville was just on TSR making excuses for BO again. Saying that BO isn’t being informed about how bad it really is, but when he comes down to see the marshes he will “act”. Wasn’t BO already down there? Aren’t there any TVs in the WH?

We can see the devastation 24/7 on cable news, but BO needs to see it to believe it? Unbelievable!

    Republicans are pro-business, anti-government.
Wouldn’t you want Obama on the sidelines so BP can fix the problem themselves?
Or maybe, now that BP can’t fix the problem, it’s suddenly Obama’s fault for supposedly sitting on the sidelines.

I actually saw Obama being defended on this issue by the panel on Bret Baier last night on FOX. They all said that there’s no way that the government has the expertise the step in and fix the problem as far as capping the spill, so Obama has had no choice but to leave it up to BP and make sure that they stay in the loop so that the government can understand the cause and solution to this crisis in order to effectively legislate effectively against it happening in the future.

The panel felt any real culpability that could be attached to Obama would be for refusing to do things like allow barrier islands to be constructed to prevent/slow oil from making itr to the shores, which Gov. Jindal requested (the reason for refusal was that the effect on the ecosystem is unknown, btw). That’s actually pretty fair and balanced. Liberal commentators attacking Obama on this are simply trying to show the public the “depth of their concern and care for the environment”. Conservatives that are attacking are mostly just trying to score politcal points off the president.

What I find most interesting is that the administration is widely being perceived as slow to act instead of being given the benefit of the doubt. I think this is a result of the administration so often taking a combative and secretive stance after running a campaign that touted transparency as on of its hallmarks.

SO funny seeing Republicans screaming for GOVERNMENT to fix something a PRIVATE company broke. Fucking hilarious!

Carville might be ready for prime time if he gets plastic surgery, follicle implant, and a voice coach.

I wouldn’t watch Carville if his was the only program on TV.
