Mel Gibson Asks Jewish Reporter: ‘Do You Have A Dog In This Fight?’

video

Behold Mel Gibson living down to his reputation. Earlier today Rick Sanchez highlighted Gibson in his ‘the list u don’t want 2 be on’ segment for a comment Gibson made to KTLA entertainment reporter Sam Rubin during a press junket for his new movie Edge of Darkness (watch the video…Gibson is not a person you’d want to be stuck in a small room with). In the clip Rubin is trying to edge his way around asking Gibson whether he is worried how he will be received by the public in his first foray back into movies since going on a reported anti-Semitic tirade to cops after being pulled over for drunk driving back in 2006. Here’s the exchange:

Reporter: Some people are going to welcome you back, and some people are going to say you should never come back.

MG: Why

Reporter: Because of what happened before.

MG: What happened before?

Reporter: The remarks that were attributed to you.

MG: That were attributed to me that I didn’t necessarily make.

Reporter: Uh Huh

MG: But and I gather you have a dog in this fight.

Reporter: Pardon me?

MG: You have a dog in this fight? Or are you being impartial?

Reporter: You tell me. I’m trying to be impartial.

MG: Ok. Well I’m back. And I hope it works out. And I hope people will graciously accept me back.

It’s hard to impart the level of crazy sarcasm in that last sentence. And yes! Absolutely. Don’t you feel endeared to Mel Gibson now! Lordy. Who talks like that? Video below.

I can’t believe people are still talking about the comments he made. My God, that’s old news. Let it go. Let the man make a movie. He said he was sorry, knock it off.

  • http://www.swissarmyjew.com Keeva

Actually, he did not say he was sorry. He said it never happened. He still says it never happened. Let him make all the movies he wants. And let me not see any of them. That is how it works.

  • Rachel Sklar

I’ll never put any money, ever, toward anything Mel Gibson does.

  • Puter Boi

I would probably choose to be stuck in a small room with Mel Gibson, rather than a speeding automobile with Rick Sanchez.

  • apparently

I’m not a Gibson fan, but Rubin was being a wimp. Either ask the question with the full intent
of going for a real answer or leave it alone. That was pretty half-assed and gave Gibson plenty
of room to evade and confront.

Here’s a link to one of his many apologies for the anti-Semitic comments he made back in 2006:

Like I said, why can’t we all just give it a rest and either watch or don’t watch his new movie. How many years does the apology tour have to last?

Every Jewish individual on the planet should automatically be granted a restraining order against that guy. *shudder*

  • sarainitaly

Mel looks like crap. his hard living has caught up to him. he looks crazy mean, too. As gross as his comments were, at least he didn’t pull a Polanski.

too bad Sanchez didn’t interview Mel…they could have shared their drunk driving stories.

Haters like Mel feel it is their “due” to spew ugliness and get away with it. Why? bc time has passed, they are directors, actors, wealthy etc… It is an insult for him to sit there and pretend the public’s memory is so short that no one remembers or cares what he vomited out.
Wrong! I for one, am hitting him where I know, for a fact, he will feel and hurt…. the bottom line… his money bank account. I am boycotting any Mel G movies.
If you don’t stand for something you will fall for anything. We need to stand up for people with Mels mentality and let them know that YES! we do have a dog in this fight! Its called decency for others, respect, and downright moral rights! How dare he sit there acting dumb actually thinking he could say disgusting rantings all in the name of who he is and get away with it. We need to nip this hating now or suffer the consequences of it later. I am really ashamed of Mel and I really never thought he was like this inside. But, you know what they say about drunks and kids… they blurt ourt the truth!

Sara, your point about Polanski is well taken! Me? I’d like to ask Rick Sanchez if he’s benefitted from both forgiveness and being given the opportunity to move on, a second chance so to speak. These press junkets are notoriously grueling, and by golly, Mel is showing guts just by being available. I think the fact that Rubin is a Jew is overblown, here. That said, I can’t think of a Gibson movie I’ve really liked, with the exception of “Braveheart”.

  • http://trickletown.vox.com/ Trickletown

Just remembered; Another Gibson movie I liked very much; “We Were Soldiers”, based on a true story.

  • timzank

Ok, So what we have here is, Sanchez wants to be just like Olbermann’s WWP, by pointing to some pissant entertainment hack reporter trying desperately to coax some long delayed admission or apology out of a guy that absolutely ruled the box office for 20 years until he got all fricked up one night and made big mistake shooting off his mouth.
Let’s see, drunk guy who got mouthy with cops being made fun of by drunk guy that actually killed somebody.

Why would Dirty Sanchez be dumb enough to even go there? Does he think nobody remembers Jeffrey Smuzinick?

  • Duc du Berry

    Do they ever forgive?

  • The Real Royal King

This is a battle better fought at the box office. I don’t do Gibson, and I haven’t for some time. That’s adequate.

  • Facebook User

How far is this going… he said somthing stupid while he was angry, drunk and not himself, wich most of us have done sooner or later, i have said stupid things while i was angry, wich i didn’t mean at all, and then appoligized for it. I can imagine that Mal Gibson have heard it most of the days, after this episode, no wonder if he’s on the edge. i think anyone that would be in the same situation or anyone that gets a whipping day after day month after month, and years, would reacted the same way. we are tallking about the guy that made the passion of christ movie, can’t say that i see him as a bad person for spewing out a bad comment wich he probably didnt mean, when he was wasted, probably angry and not himself. i think that media is blowing things out of proportions, like he’s on the edge, and trying to make more out of it. he’s already apologized, give tha man a break.

  • writer

Gibson was drunk when he made the anti-semitic comments, so it’s hard to say if he really meant it. But I assume he was sober when he made the Lethal Weapon movies. Didn’t he notice that Danny Glover is as crazy as a s***house rat? Why didn’t he comment on that?

  • Jelperman

    Lethal Weapon 5 -I’m there!

I still watch John Wayne movies, even though he was a racist putz.

  • Gal

HOW dare you Sam Rubin? Why don’t you explain the following:

“In 1941, a Jewish writer, Theodor N. Kaufman, wrote Germany Must
Perish. Kaufman set out a plan for the total destruction of the
German population by a very simple method: the mass sterilisation of
all German men and women between the age of puberty and sixty years.”

Dr. Manfred Reifer, a well known leader of the Jews of Bukovina,
wrote in the Jewish magazine Czernowitzer Allegemeine Zeitung
    (September 1933):

‘Whilst large sections of the German nation were struggling for the
preservation of their race, we Jews filled the streets of Germany
with our vociferations. We supplied the press with articles on the
subject of its Christmas and Easter and administered to its religious
beliefs in the manner we considered suitable. We ridiculed the highest
ideals of the German nation and profaned the matters which it holds
    sacred.’

Resentment and resistance began to build up against the alien horde
and in the year before Adolf Hitler came to power Bernard Lecache,
President of the World Jewish League, stated:

‘Germany is our public enemy number one. It is our object to declare
    war without mercy against her.’

NOW THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING of TRUTH that begs AWARENESS in
preface to understanding WORLD WAR II and the HOLOCAUST. I am sure
that this is what MEL GIBSON is talking about when YOU JERK-FACE
A-HOLE confronted him about his so called antisemitism!

JUST GOOGLE FOR MORE REFERENCES and DIRECTIONS to better understand
the HOLOCAUST —- OHH BUT WAIT — YOU are just a reporter and YOU
do not give a damn about the truth NOW do you?

  • Castlebridge

Of course the reporter, Samuel Rubin, is a JEW. His “question” was nothing more than an underhanded attempt to dredge up the past and try to get people to avoid Mel’s moving, thereby damaging his career. This is typical, Jewish duplicity and vindictiveness. Mr. Rubin certainly did not declare to the audience that he was a Jew making an attack on Mel. No; he pretended to be an unbiased reporter and camaflouged his criticism in the form of a question. This is why Mel asked if “he had a dog in the fight”. This is very biased “journalism” with a ZIONIST POLITICAL AGENDA. This reporter should be fired. He should not be abusing his position in the media for jewish propaganda purposes and to push his own racial political agenda!

  • H_nz5
