Sarah Palin’s Really Expensive Guided Tour Of Alaska Coming Soon To TV?

It looks like Sarah Palin’s reality television show about Alaska is one step closer to becoming, well, a reality. The reality show in question, by the way, is not, as was first rumored, a show about the Palin family (though I still contend there’s a certain genius to that idea). Instead, as has been noted before, it will be a show about Alaska hosted by Sarah Palin. Apparently, she’s looked for some big bucks…to the tune of $1.2 million per episode.

From THR:

Sources say Discovery Communications has edged out rival A&E Networks in the bidding for the project, titled “Sarah Palin’s Alaska.” An agreement could be announced in the next few days…The former governor’s asking price was $1.2 million per episode. A network paying anywhere close to that figure would make “Alaska” one of the most expensive nature series ever produced. The high-definition program will be shot in a style similar to “Life” and “Planet Earth” and will feature Palin acting as a guide to the Alaskan outdoors.

Seems to me she’s completely ditched the idea of becoming President. Good, because I’d rather have her be Steve Irwin than Commander in Chief.

    My feelings exactly m.

A nature show by Sarah Palin?

What is going to be the first episode? Clubbing baby seals? Shooting bears from a helicopter? Or maybe she’ll just do a very special episode explaining how the Caribou actually enjoy having their habitat ruined by oil rigs and why drilling in Anwar is actually helping the wildlife (which will, of course, be co-sponsored by Fox News and Exxon).

Agreed M. She is an attention seeker. Politics was simply the means to getting attention.

    P.S.
I am happy for the Freepers. It will give them something else to watch on T.V. other than Fox News and 24.

How is this different than Oprah hosting the new Discovery series “Life,” which is a “Planet Earth”-like documentary?

Was this just another click-hungry article so the zombies can come out from their corners to flame away?

Wish I could expect more, but you are Glynnis.

This will be worth following. Sarah Palin will say that Alaska is the northernmost state, and Media Matters will issue a press release the following day citing eight reasons why Alaska is actually in the south. And that night Olbermann will devote thirty minutes to “Alaska the gateway to the South.”

Thirty minutes every night for a month is more Keith’s style.

Poor digitalan, why do you lie so much. Baby seals are clubbed in Canada. Palin shoots wolves from the helicopter not bears. There has been NO habitat ruined by oil rigs. Yes the Caribou are thriving along side the pipeline. If you can’t get anything right don’t comment.

I look forward to the series. Anyone who has not been to Alaska should watch … and those who have been will want to watch. It is a beautiful, beautiful state. Magnificent sceneriy. You can take a tour bus and ride the train, or take a combination trip to Dawson City Yukon (but it is getting touristy) and join the Sour Toe Cocktail Cllub of Capn Dick. The last time we went the fireweed was luxurious, all over the place.

And yoiu can go to Homer Spit and go salmon fishing or halibut fishing.

Rent an RV in Anchorage and drive all over the state…don’t miss Cheena Hot Springs way out at the end of the road.

Good for Sarah…she has a good state to brag about.

Will Sarah be wearing that toothy, vacant hillbilly grin on her face?? Stay tuned!!

    Hillbillies in Alaska?

Gordon Bloyer, Good job with the facts. Facts make the socialists here absolutely furious.

Gordon, you forget that the article is about Sarah Palin. So distortions and out-and-out lies are the order of the day.
