Yeah, I don’t think that was it. Mostly, I was just sleepy, but his lack of passion didn’t help.

That said, I’m glad he actually proposed cuts. Finally, after years of fiscal irresponsibility (from Republicans under Bush and most people in Congress since Obama took office), the debate has finally shifted to how much we should cut spending, not how much we should increase spending.

Even though I don’t think he went far enough, I think it was one of the best speeches he has given as president, as he finally acknowledged the need to cut spending and get the deficit under control.

And even though I disagree with you, I won’t call you a moron, The_Unreasonable_Lib.

It’s actually in the best interest of the rich to contribute more to our nations fiscal health. If we continue down the road Republicans have been taking us, there will be too much imbalance, and the rich will be forced to defend themselves and their property from the desperate and tired masses who have been falling behind.
