Chris Matthews Is “Getting One of Those Thrills” Again


matthews_7-13Here we go again – Chris Matthews has another one of those thrills.

Following MSNBC’s wall-to-wall coverage of the Sonia Sotomayor hearing, Matthews, Andrea Mitchell and Richard Wolffe were recapping the highlights. And then, just as he famously did with President Barack Obama, Matthews described a “thrill” watching the hearings:

“Well, I’m getting one of those thrills, that I get about America. I’m sorry, I shouldn’t say this, and I’m getting it again.”

    After 95 episodes, the epic failure known as The Jay Leno Show airs its final episode tonight. Of course, Leno himself will be back after the Olympics, comfortably at 11:35pm all over again. Which was pretty much the problem to begin with - the 10pm offering started as a similar product to the Tonight Show, and only became more like the old format as time went on.
