It was a significant error on the part of Mediaite. But to cover up Colby’s mistake, that changed the time stamp to May 2010 yet you can see the comments are from this morning. A few of us noticed this error very quickly and commented. However, Mediaite deleted all comments that pointed the error out on that article.

I just went back and noticed it. For a site that reports on other media mistakes/ errors they sure have an issue with attention to detail. But everyone makes mistakes, yet in this case it appears that they don’t like us talking about it.

Huckabee retracted his remark in the sense that it could be implied that he was suggesting that the president had not been born in the U.S.

It’s a given that Matthews knows this and is ignoring it, but he’s also suggesting that it’s “racist” (rather than inaccurate) to suggest that the president is a bit of a red-diaper baby, as well as saying that Huckabee referencing a stereotype of non-white, non-Europeans, as being anti-western.

THIS from a guy a who EXPRESSLY referenced the predominance of caucasians in the Tea Party Movement as a singular indication of the group’s reactionary bigotry.

P.S.–As for the Spanish/English question, that’s a sensitive topic if you’re Irish. My ancestors could be hung for speaking their native language. At least seven states were founded by non-English speaking people. I think business should be done in a common language. Beyond that, all languages should be accepted. Living in NYC, I learned to do business in Spanish, Italian, Yiddish and Chinese (Cantonese). You might try it. If nothing else, it’ll expand your range of profanity.

I never hear Huckabee pay any attention to the color of the President’s skin. In contrast, I hear Matthews (and other hosts on MSNBC) constantly obsessing about Obama’s skin color. I think that tells you who is deciding matters on the ground of race.

But this is expected of the Democrats. For most of the party’s history, it supported giving whites preferences over blacks. And then fifty years ago it switched to supporting preferences for blacks over whites. In short, the Democrats have NEVER been color-blind, and have always judged people on the basis of their skin color.
