Chris Matthews Suggests Newt Gingrich’s Hand Gestures Are Religious

Video

Chris Matthews is amazed at Newt Gingrich‘s transformation to appeal to Republican primary voters and claimed he never knew Newt was so Christian in his politics. Calling Newt’s religious strategy and statements about morality “blindingly audacious,” Matthews was having fun talking about the “new Newt.”

Matthews also hypothesized that Newt’s body language was religious, suggesting “even the hand gestures – there’s something very Christian about that – it’s like he’s receiving information and he’s giving it to us . . . it’s something very Christian-era about this guy.” And possibly knowing that many of his recent statements about Newt have raised some eyebrows, Matthews hesitated, “I shouldn’t even say this,” before concluding that Newt reminded him of a bank robber who either wears a zoot suit or something so strange that you focus on the costume instead of the person.

Newt doesn’t have to fear though, since it seems no matter what he wears, Matthews will still find him and impressively be able to consistently come up with new analogies to describe him.

I honestly believe that Chris Matthews has some mental issues.

  • TeaPartyPatriot

I’ve got a hand gesture for lunatic-left nut-job matthews. In fact, I’m giving it to him right now.

Every time one of the lunatic-left nut-job commentators/reporters/politicians open their mouth I get a thrill up my leg. Their insane remarks discredit and disgrace the entire lunatic-left d-crat socialist extremist ideology better than anyone else or anything else could possibly do.

Me too. It actually is getting to the point of Sheen crazy – except without the malnutrition look.

COMCAST must be so proud. NBC proving itself day in and day out to be the DNC only network. And here I read that Palin’s decision not to participate in the “first GOP debate later this year at RR library, and hosted by none other than CNN” means that she isn’t running. No republican should EVER go on MSNBC/NBC. The national barak channel …. lol with Chrissy leaning forward. Bwahahaha.

The “argumentum ad hominem” is the logical fallacy of attempting to undermine a speaker’s argument by attacking the speaker instead of addressing the argument. For examples, watch MSNBC tonight, tomorrow night, the night after that, the next night, etc. etc. etc.

  • errxn

Wait, I thought Glenn Beck was the one who was supposed to be the nut job (according to the “genius” commenters here). Really? Seriously?

  • TrollJuice

Ha! Keyboard commandos talking about others.

  • notsofast

Chris Matthews tells viewers that Egypt is home to the Panama Canal.

After his shows are over , does Matthews sit in the MSNBC lockerroom with a beer discussing how enlightening he was , what a fine show he put on , or does he skulk out into the parking lot , ashamed of what he’s done ?

Chris you’ve leaned forward so much it seems you’ve hit your head numerous times, try leaning back a little

  • Davo

Horrors! A religious Republican? And Democrats have worked so hard to convince America that Christianity is somehow “evil.” Oh well…………………

  • SteveCan

I’m thinking poor Chrissy is heading for his “Charlie Sheen Moment’.

  • Grammie

    What is Chrissy suggesting here?

Not only do we have code words and dog whistles but now we’ve added those notoriously bigoted religious hand gestures?

On Monday night 754,000 thousand people willingly, with no coercion, watched this demented fool.

What does that say about them?

  • Scott_in_MI

Isn’t this the guy who has an unhealthy obsession w/ Beck because Beck is a conspiracy theorists?

Its interesting you obsess enough to bother looking up the numbers. What does that say about you?

I noticed all the GOP potentials suddenly got “Dat Ol’ TIme Religion”. I wonder if Iowa caucus members enjoy being pandered to, are incensed by it, or are just “not too bright”.

WTF is Tingles talking about? How is that religious?

Maybe Newt was copying Obama? ha

Hey…when you’re having an on-air mental breakdown, what better guest to have on your show than TPM’s Josh Marshall who did alot of hallucinating of his own during the 2008 Democrat primary.

  • Garth

I don’t know about Newts hand signals but I do know that he is a fringe whack job who has about as much chance as the half term nit wit and the idiot Bachmann have of becoming president. That would be zero by the way.

Oh, I’m sorry. I had no idea that anyone here would be part of his audience, especially anyone from the left side of politics. I’m shocked b/c most all from that side remind me daily how intelligent, educated, nuanced and discerning they are when compared to we hick inbred hayseeds.

No need to be ashamed. We all have our secret little perverted pleasures. As such things go Chrissy is not that bad.

BTW, Mark Joyella published the stats here at Mediaite. Even for a dumb Repub it was really very easy to connect the dots.

He goes into a mens room stall with a copy of Playboy…But has a pic of Obama where the centerfold should be.

That was helpful of him. I guess he looks out for the “dumb Repub’s”. Maybe you should bake him some cupcakes as a thank you. Bless your heart.

The only way you could know this is if you are in the stall. Something you want to tell us?

Do you REALLY want to know? OR were you just being a smartass libturd? I’m betting both. You WERE TRYING to be a smartass…AND like a typical Libturd, You guys are the only ones that care if ones black, gay, rich, or poor. HAHAHAHAHAHA I’ll leave me to your imagination……..

Who give the microphone to this arrogant IDIOT?

  • ChrisNH

Obamo is famous for his ‘middle-finger scratches,’ which is clearly an impeachable offense. To Matthews, Obamo is ‘Allah,’ we all know.

  • Dem4Ever

This guy is off his meds and is now officially a danger to society.

  • Paleoconservatarian

When politicians on the right emote with their hands their channeling god? Hmm, that’s new and an interesting interpretation of a common debate tactic as old as dirt.

  • The Tea Weasel®

Someone explain to Chris that the middle finger salute is not religious.

  • writer

Lord knows where Chris’s hands have been.

  • WildMan

Why are Chrissy Tingles hands under the table/desk 99% of the time. Oh yeah he starts getting tingles up his leg, so he must be going for the thrills. Chris just retire already. You are the biggest joke on cable. You make Charlie Sheen look sane and almost like a choir boy at a Sunday Mass.

  • andthehorseyourodeinon

And Matthews hand gestures while watching Obama on election night resulted in that warm tingle down his leg

Are you kidding? My guess is that the only 2 lemmings defending Chrissy in this thread are actually Chrissy. What other person with half a brain would defend this psycho babble. Unless they were full of psycho babble themselves.

  • justanotherconservative

and i suggest matthews is nuts. how about that?

  • redwriteblue

Newt Gingrich was trying to address the Evangelical Republicans that do not approve of divorce, let alone having realtions with another woman while still married, twice!

The Evangelicals are skeptical about Mitt Romney for religious doctrinal reasons as they are about Catholics, to which Newt is a recent convert (he is so enamored of his new faith that he made a movie about Pope John.)

Newt Gingrich illustrates the Republicans’ lust for power that has them controlling most of the U.S. Economy:

Matthews is hilarious. He slams Newt for infidelity just days removed from slobbering all over Clinton, “President of the World”

Question Obama’s christianity, and Matthews will fly off the handle in a bug-eyed rage. But questioning Newt’s christianity is a news-worthy item.

Newt spends his time doing….what? Clinton spends his time trying to undo the damage to America’s overseas reputation done by 8 years of rule by the Village Idiot from Texas…

You mean the racist Clinton? The one who told Senator Kennedy that Obama would have been fetching him coffee a few years ago?

  • Nachi

Stop that, Chrissie! Listen to Newt: “They have defiled my God! They have spat upon his holy temple! I’m not talkin’ Gentle Jesus here, the god of love & forgiveness. I’m talkin’ Old Testament! The Lord God Jehova! To bring on Fire, and flood, and pestilence. He shall HAVE his vengeance!!” Stay tuned.
