CNN Berlin correspondent Frederik Pleitgen reported Monday during the network’s live coverage of the Berlin Christmas market truck crash that authorities believe the crash was likely “terror-related.”

Pleitgen said it was still unclear whether or not the truck driver was in custody, but added that it was certainly a possibility given “the fact that the German authorities now believe this is terror related.”

CNN anchor Brooke Baldwin asked Pleitgen to clarify whether he said that authorities believed the attack was terror-related. “From what I’m hearing, they believe that it is,” he said.

Pleitgen against reiterated that he couldn’t confirm there was a suspect in custody, but “judging from what I’ve been hearing, they do believe that this is most likely terror-related.”
