Lindsey Graham Reportedly Told Film Crew Trump Was ‘Jacked’ at Start of Iran War: ‘He Loves Blowing Stuff Up’

The late senator Lindsey Graham reportedly told a documentary crew following him that President Donald Trump was “jacked” at the start of the Iran war because he “loves blowing stuff up.”

According to the Wall St. Journal, Graham granted filmmaker Alex Holder access to him for three years prior to his death last month. And in some of his more candid, newly-reported comments, the late senator painted a picture of a hawkish president that differed greatly from the dove he frequently sold himself as publicly.

“’I talked to Trump this morning, he’s jacked,'” Graham told the film crew in February, at the start of the Iran war. “[Trump] said, ‘best thing I have ever done.’ He loves blowing stuff up.”

Graham vented frustration with the Trump administration for having reservations about the war.

“Very few people are out selling this war from the administration,” Graham told the crew. “I’m shocked.”

The Journal’s report noted that Graham did not think Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner could successfully negotiate a deal with Iran — and that only Secretary of State Marco Rubio could.

“They’re just too conflicted,” Graham told the filmmakers of Witkoff and Kushner. “It’s gotta be Rubio.”
