Dana Perino: Media Was ‘Disappointed’ Palin’s Emails Did Not Prove She Was Stupid Or Evil

Video

Former White House Press Secretary Dana Perino appeared on Fox & Friends this morning and enjoyed the fact that Sarah Palin was able to score a victory over the media. Steve Doocy asked Perino for her thoughts on newspapers asking their readers to do their “dirty work” and sift through Palin’s recently released emails, something Perino found amusing especially since Palin won in the end.

Perino was amazed by the media’s relentless fascination with Palin:

“When it comes to Sarah Palin there is an obsession that nearly turns into a circus. . . . The media asked their readers to help them read through the emails as if they were trying to find something that would either prove she was evil, prove she was stupid, prove she did something wrong in office. And they’re disappointed, and the thing that is great to me. Guess who wins again? Sarah Palin.”

After the release of the emails, a Palin spokesperson even said about them, they “detail a Governor hard at work. Everyone should read them.” Perino doubted the media would ever be as interested in all documents that might actually matter to the nation, like emails related to recent National Labor Relations hearings. Good luck finding readers who would eagerly volunteer to help newspapers read those emails.

Fact: Lame street media as a whole roled a gutterball on this one. Here’s pie in your eye! Hahahahahaha…….

  • Steve_27

How about “Water is wet,” or “The sky is blue” for a headline?

  • THE REAL ROYAL KING

Paranoia and victimization. Victimization and paranoia. The persistent themes of the GOP! No one was disappointed. Everyone was predicting a snooze fest. Palin proves you can shine Krap, but it holds its luster for mere moments. The luster is long gone.

  • Liberal Tormentor

The level to which the corrupt liberal media and the liberal minions that follow them hate Palin is disgusting and humorous at the same time.

  • Steve_27

Pretty phenominal how in your face biased all this is. How in the world do you do this to a former governor not even running for president or currently involved with politics and simultaneously not ask a thing about our unknown president with the shady connnection and backround?

Simply impossible to carry on like this and not be seen as biased.

    Any libs want to try?

  • Dem4Ever

I feel sorry for all of the disappointed people of the Lib/Prog Party.  They were duped into believing that they were on some sort of righteous mission that would finally confirm their “feelings”…you know that Sarah Palin is satan incarnate.

Maybe if they scavange through another 24k emails?

  • W.I.S.C

Palin’s alarm clock is probably programmed to wake her up to Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi” every morning.

It is amazing. They don’t want to learn anything about our president and label anyone who does a racist. Yet, they suddenly become sleuths again when they’re trying to attack a woman who holds no office what so ever.

It reminds me of this retarded interview between Tom Brokaw and Charlie Gibson. Neither of them knows “much about Obama” and neither seems all that interested in just asking the tough questions.

It is quite amazing how the whole thing with the emails turned out. They hyped them to a ridiculous level and we all learned…that Sarah Palin was an effective and conscientious governor (at least before the liberals began their scorched earth tactics), articulate and unconcerned with partisanship. It’s almost as if she had deputized those that hated her the most to campaign for her. She’s come a long way since 2008, when it was obvious she was shellshocked by the media’s hatefest.

  • Azarkhan

Poor leftist swine. They really can’t get over their hatred and obsession with Ms. Palin.

You truly are the most delusion idiot here. Paranoia and especially victimization are liberal traits. Was it supposed to make you feel good to spew some clearly backwards liberal talking point then scurry along? Were you hoping you could post your nonsense and not get called out on it?

Thats why they drafted and hired people in a massive rush to go over 20 something thousand emails, because they knew there was nothing there and it would be a “snooze fest?” You are to dumb to believe. On top of years of unjust and wrong attacks, no one was disapointed to not find MORE nonsense to attack her on? Again, you are to dumb to believe.

Liberal media seems amazed at the disconnect between what the emails represent, a sensible and engaged governer (compared to say a certain resident of a certain house painted white that is a no show on most issues until other’s have done all the work and negotiating) and their caraciture of her as a ditzy moron. They don’t seem to get they built Obama up to be a god and build Palin up to be the ditzy glamour loving moron. They are wrong on both counts.

There was little if any hype.

“Whipping girl.”? I would disagree with that term. Source of ridicule? Clearly.

No, the emails don’t prove Palin is stupid. It’s the things she says that prove it.

I’d compare Palins message to Obama’s any day. She speaks honestly and consistantly and with a positive outlook on America and its dominant values. She hasn’t spent her entire adult life talking instead of doing, she’s spent a heck of a lot more time doing instead of talking. Our leaders need to be more than just teleprompter reading mouthpieces, they need to make decisions and should be leading from the front not the back of issues.

No, if you’d ever listened to the news, you would have known about this tawdry episode with Oak. The e-mails merely confirmed Palin was am ethically-challenged crook.

This massive media appeal for the public’s help has got the most UNself-conscious, let-it-all-hang-out action since the media fell all over itself laughing over Pres. Obama’s joke that he turned over in bed to ask NBC’s Brian Williams his opinion on matters.

When Palin’s e-mails requested during campaign , the media heard about this :

    Obama’s friend Ayers wrote ” Dreams ” .

Obama attended Jew hating Farrakhan’s march .
Obama praising Jew hating Rashid Khalidi at farewell dinner .
Obama attends Jew hating Wright’s church for 20 years.
Obama’s shady deals with Tony Rezko .
Obama belonged to Dem. Socialist party in Chicago .

    Investigate Obama ? No !

    Get Palin !

    And they haven’t stopped.

Okay, but who’s been talking instead of doing (for OUR benefit) for the past two years, B-Rock or Sar-A? Like him or not, the President has been “doing” what he thinks is in America’s best interests since he got sworn in. Palin’s been on book tours. Both fight bottom feeder mediaites. So, what?

Like Jimmy Carter (and Joe Biden as vp) the President is President just by waking up and going golfing every few days. Has he made some decisions? Comparing anyone to a sitting President isnt a fair comparison. Compare Palin (while out of office) to Obama when he was Senator is more realistic, and I’d argue Palin has been far more influential to both sides of the aisle than Obama was, until he became the nominee front runner anyways, and remember, Palin isn’t even running, she;s positioning herself to dominate the convention, which she’ll almost certainly be successful at doing.

  • TfT

Dana is spot on accurate; the media HATE Palin with a passion for the sole reason that she birthed Trig; they all would have aborted him or supported his abortion.

Sarah is a smart woman who has been slandered by the US Media because of their hatred for her Christian beliefs and because they adore the manchild for some odd reason.

Funny how they never submitted a FOIA for HIS records, oh no, he is to be protected at all costs. The media have turned themselves into propagandists for the DNC and team Obama…they are NOT to be trusted on anything anymore; you have anchors that bow to hehimself, those who bat their eyelashses and hehimself, and then those who claim tingles and “it is my responsibility to ensure he succeeds”. that is today’s media – propagandists by their own admission

  • teccec

sry, had started to say has he made decisions, yes, has Palin said silly things, yes, but neither of them spends most of their time doing that – but that’s a weak and dumb argument. The President makes decisions every day, its part of the job, and Palin haters would argue most of what comes out of her mouth is silly. I agree with the former, disagree with the latter, but it still isn’t a useful argument to use as a comparison of the two.

At this point it looks like Palin will walk away from the “e-mail dump” without any major lasting damage.

Where the fireworks begin is when Palin decides to runs for POTUS (which I believe she will). The battle between Democrats and Palin will take second fiddle to the battle within the Republican party.

Despite claims by the far right, Mitt Romney is a strong candidate, can attract centrists, and has support from the establishment. Romney supporters are also less sensitive to attacks on him by members of his own party and have the advantage of “been there done that”. They are reality based enough to realize conflict is part and parcel of a nominating system for becoming the Republican nominee.

Sarah Palin’s supporters are far more sensitive to criticism levied against her by members of her own party. She has never ran in a presidential primary before. The Democrats versus Palin battle will tend to fade away and the action will explode within the republican party with Romney, Palin, and a possible third person in a battle royale . Sarah Palin’s supporters (and they are dedicated and loyal, I will give them that) expect a coronation by her party and take any criticism towards her by republicans as unforgivable heresy. They hold grudges and are poor at compromising.

I expect total war, and Romney will most likely win but nothing is certain. While Hillary’s supporters had their issues with Obama, a large majority of them still voted and voted for Obama. Many Palin supporters will refuse to vote for Romney. A spoiler third party run by Palin or a similar candidate materializes.

For us that lean towards the left it will all be entertaining if nothing else.

Gee, I take it you are left of center? McCain ran as a centrest (and part time old angry dude), Romney was out-centered by McCain but otherwise is attractive to the left precisely because he is a centrist. Hate to break the news to you, but most Republicans are conservative. Romney is attractive for his financial qualitifications only. If a viable conservative gets in the race (Palin, Christie, Perry) Romney will likely be an also ran this time too. To his advanatage is the positive media he’ll get compared to conservative candidates, the ‘its your turn’ mentality since like Hilary he came in 2nd last time, and his leftover campaign workers from the prior effort. He’s definately one to watch, but isn’t likely to be the candidate selected at the convention.

I frankly hope Bachman does well, I’d like to see her as a VP if not President. I think she’d do a good job but I’m not yet convinced she’d put together a team of allstars to support her administration – only because I don’t know that she has the ear of enough high-level players in the party. If she has party support and gets a good staff, I would be very proud to have her as a P or VP.

Most Republicans are conservative but not all, and the word “conservative” means so many things in this day and age and is so mushy new descriptive words need to be used. BTW, Romney was socially moderate in Massachusetts and while this could hurt him in the primaries and caucuses, it could help him in the general as people are rapidly becoming more supportive of issues such as gay rights (check out new Gallup results). Perry has his own problems and many Americans do not want another Texan in the White house anytime soon, though I do not count him out. Christie could be a considerable threat to Romney but I doubt he runs.

BTW, do not underestimate the Rep. establishment’s dislike of Palin or the power they still hold. And also remember, the Republicans still has many voting “RINO’s as the far right likes to say. You may not like them, but their vote counts too and they are turned of by the Christian right and Palin.

And as Woody Allen said “Eighty percent of success is showing up.” Mitt Romney is campaigning and showing up. Mitt has been doing this for a long time. From my own life experience, this fact counts for something.

Ed Rollins was one of the masterminds behind Reagan’s reelection over Walter Mondale in 1984. In 1984 Ed was strategically brilliant . He is quirky and runs his mouth, but is another one not to underestimate.

    Q. How does the media’s coverage of this compare with instances in which they have scrutinized a Democrat politician’s emails?

    A. You can’t answer that because the mainstream media has never scrutinized a Democrat politician’s emails.

Washington is making up all the ridiculous news stories for the media to report on. Do you really care which reporter called which reporter stupid? Who threw glitter at Newt Gingrich, or who farted on The View?

Here’s what the feds don’t want you to know.

I went to your “Bin Laden is code” web page. The fact remains that you have a web page plus comments all over the internet at various news sites. This negates the entire premise of your article about you being suppressed. If what you said in the article was true you would right now be at Gitmo.

Paranoia is not always a higher state of awareness.

Palin is too stupid and brainless to say anything interesting in an e-mail.

The e-mails reveal a governor of limited intelligence. That’s why intelligence agencies such as the CIA refused to waterboard Sarah Palin.

Guys– I’ve had to beat back a lot of infighting in threads this morning. Keep it on topic and polite.

Thanks, Eddie, for trying to keep things civil here. And thanks for deleting comments that are obscene, insulting, etc. These really have no place here, and Mediaite is better without them on its pages.

Wonder why they wouldn’t want fo foia the e-mail of Rod Blagojevich. What’s that arguement the libs use for Weiner and Vitter?

“Media Was ‘Disappointed’ Palin’s Emails Did Not Prove She Was Stupid Or Evil” – word.

Hey girlfriend, mind if I stalk you from afar…ok..really.. I’m joking…promise no Weiner pics here.

Maybe someone out there in this thread has ask this question or answered this question already. But with all the news about not finding anything negative or damning as somehow being news, has anyone released the “good stuff”?… and I don’t mean the “good stuff” as in bad for Sarah, I mean the good stuff that actually does show us she was doing a good job.

By the way, as to not being news..The only news here is that the media and left again need to be ashamed of themselves.

    NATUREFREAK,

On another Post I asked if you were the same “Nature Freak” only with a different picture?

I’ve read your Posts and don’t believe so. You express yourself better and seem more thoughtful.

So, the mystery is—What have YOU done with the other NATURE FREAK? Hmm. I see through your clever ploy!
