Fox News’ Charles Krauthammer References ‘Tea Bag’ Protests

kraut_teaWhile conservatives have taken offense at the use of the term “tea-baggers” to refer to members of the Tea Party Movement, they seem to have lost sight of the fact that it was Fox News reporter Griff Jenkins who first made the connection between the protests and that particular bit of sexual parlance. Now, it seems that the mainstream media’s sophomoric overkill has crept into the mind of Fox News analyst Charles Krauthammer, bringing the term full circle to its birthplace.

While it is understandable that people wouldn’t want to be called “tea-baggers,” the right was curiously bereft of outrage when Jenkins positioned the protesters as the metaphorical aggressors, and the White house as the recipients of the euphemistic bags. Let’s see what kind of outrage Krauthammer’s slip generates.

I think this is a sign that the insult (at least, attempt at an insult from the left) has hit critical mass, and nobody cares anymore.

The left clung to the term “tea-bagger,” essentially telling the same joke over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.

But after that many repetitions, the joke has died… and they’ve managed to shoot themselves in the foot. But really, is this the best the left can do the combat the protestors? You said it, Tommy… “the mainstream media’s sophomoric overkill” has rendered the insult meaningless.

If you think the term “teabagger” is sophomoric, you’re right.

    But I’m a little immature.

So it you knew me, it wouldn’t surprise you to know that I’ve been a proud Teabagger for several months.

    Teabag or die, dog.

Not sure this is as big a deal as you are making it out to be. Sounds like a slip of the tongue to me, not an intentional insult. As for Grif Jenkins, he may have been the first to point out the meaning of “teabagging” on-air, but he’s not the one who popularized it as an insult to the tea party activists (hardly any of whom, apparently, had ever even heard the disgusting term before.) No, that honor I think goes to the A Mess NBC wackos and Gloria Vanderbilt’s boy over at CNN, who, I’m informed, has some first-hand experience with the practice (heck, that boy has probably taken more balls to the chin than Hughie Jenkins).

Ahh, the Tea Baggers and their apostles here. Setting low standards for themselves – and consistently failing to achive them. Another tiny interlude with the Great Unwashed. Yup.

    That “achieve.”

You know FULL WELL what he meant Christopher just like you knew what Garafolo and those other deviants meant. Are you even serious about this?

Ah yes, I forgot how conservatives still hates gays. Yet another reason why the GOP is still the party of ignorance.

I love that you can take one person’s post on a blog, and ascribe it to an entire political party, M.

How fair and honest of you. *Rolls eyes*
