Hot Mic Captures Joke Between General Petraeus And Secretary Gates About Libya

video

Secretary of Defense Robert Gates and General David Petraeus know plenty about war and defending America, but apparently don’t know much about the dangers of a hot mic. After Gates exited his plane, Petraeus greeted him and exchanged a joke about Libya that was surely meant to be for Gates’ ears only.

Petraeus jokingly said to Gates, “Welcome back, sir, flying a little bigger plane than normal . . . you gonna launch some attacks on Libya or something?” Gates laughed and replied, “yeah, exactly.” Well at least the General is eager to keep up troop morale?

I hope they don’t plan on invading Libya and entrenching us in yet another middle east country for 10 years.

Leave Libya to the Libyans! Keep us out!

Reminiscent of Reagan’s leaked joke about bombing Russia in five minutes, which totally ruined his political career. Or not, as mere months later he won re-election in arguably the biggest landslide ever. So this will give some self-righteous ninnies an opportunity to condemn people they were already going to condemn anyway, but otherwise, not much changes.

Wait, is he the wise, professional and competent General Petraeus this week, or is he the despicable General Betray Us his week? Has anyone gotten a current talking point from The Borg?

I believe that there is a chance we’re going into Libya one way or another and pretending we are helping the libyans when we will actually be securing their government under our control and preparing to funnel out resources under the auspices of “helping the libyans”.

You’re the one who’s naive, talking about potatoes or something, you sound like a complete moron next to the other intelligent conservative commentators at mediaite… you just make conservatives look bad here.

The reason most liberals don’t take ANY of you guys seriously is because Bush did stuff like this and you all ignored it, you guys aren’t bright enough to make sure the government isn’t corrupt. You don’t realize you’re just a bunch of po-dunk citizens that merely listen to Fox News to find out what happens. You guys don’t really know about what you talk about, you don’t know history, economics, you probably can’t point out Iraq on a map.

I mean, honestly, the fact you guys blame Obama just shows how little you know about how things truly work. If you follow Fox News and Glenn Beck, you will NEVER understand the ways they manipulate you. You just won’t be able to comprehend it because Fox brings your brain to a point SO FAR BACK, that you lose your ability to understand what is real and false. Fox has, for all intents and purposes become the messah of the right wing … and you guys won’t be taken seriously until you stop being a fan of a billion-dollar making media company that intentionally makes the news confusing for you.

If you’re religious and a tea-bagger, you’re going against the teachings of Jesus… he wanted healthcare for everyone, and pointed out the bankers were the greediest of all people…. but that’s been lost.

Learn in time I guess, then again look who I’m talking to, I shouldn’t waste more than a few sentences on gordon.. but with all this spreading of the wealth happening, I guess I just feel generous XD.

Snowspot, just ignore the curmudgeon known as Gordon. He believes there’s no global warming because it’s freezing in his town. He also calls John Lennon stupid in one of his youtube geezer rants. His kind will eventually die off and a new and better America will emerge.

What great timing – charlie sheen has just been FIRED by Warner Brothers from “Two and a Half Men”. Since it looks like gadhafi might be leaving his cushy ruler-for-life gig in Libya, he’d be the perfect replacement to star in the show. They don’t call the VD-infected and drug-crazed gadhafi the “charlie sheen of lybia” for nothing.

Hey here’s a cool blurb from Politico on the great 0bama:

Despite openness pledge, President 0bama pursues leakers. “The 0bama administration, which famously pledged to be the most transparent in American history, is pursuing an unexpectedly aggressive legal offensive against federal workers who leak secret information to expose wrongdoing, highlight national security threats or pursue a personal agenda. . . . That’s a sharp break from recent history, when the U.S. government brought such cases on three occasions in roughly 40 years.” Plus this: “The campaign here against whistleblowers is actually unprecedented in legal terms.” It’s like they’ve got something to hide. Or maybe they just lack the Bush Administration’s dedication to the principles of openness and a free press. . . .

Anyway, remember the fierce moral urgency of change? Well, this is what you voted for when you voted for change. Suckers.

Oh, and meanwhile, Hilda Solice, his labor secretary, is making access to lawyers readily available for illegal aliens who are discriminated against in the workforce. Change you can believe in! Suckers.

So much world peace after the great 0bama was awarded the peace prize, huh? He gave a wildly loved speech in Egypt, and invited the dictator of Libya to camp out on the WH lawn, didn’t he?

  • ndanielson

In other unimportant news, 0bama has decided that taxpayers will back 20% of the cost for green initiatives at the UN, for “green energy” around the world. He must have forgot how well that worked out for Fannie and Freddie, huh? No amount of taxpayer money is enough for the fraud of man-made climate change.

Thank god that Fox news never reports on these stories that never make it in the news, because the sheep would think that they were all lies. The sheep never find an 0bama policy that they can disagree with!

  • notsofast

Quick Barry! Fire the General for that joke.

Yeah, Barry, oil prices are rising and instead up reopening drilling in the Gulf, you want to send Americans to Libya to die for its oil.

  • OxyCon

Which Lamestream Media organ will try to destroy General Petraeus this time?
Rolling Stone got General McChrystal fired, so I doubt they’d go for another military scalp so soon.

“The first thing I’ll do is end these wars and the second thing I’ll do is close Gitmo!”

    Uh huh, sure thing, obama.

Your favorite Reagan would’ve of fired McCrystal too. Neocons are the ones hungry for oil and would invade countries for things like that. It seems like wall street is fueling these oil prices.

  • Partytime

I’ve noticed that even liberals will swipe a poor piece of plastic for some gasoline.

  • Paleoconservatarian

This would be a good opportunity to let NATO take the lead for a change as we provide support. They have the assets in theater, the most to lose from an interruption of oil flow and a concern to stem a refuge problem.

  • Leckan

Walking in with the army would be bad, due to the US perhaps getting caught. It would be a little ironic if the rebels succeeded thanks to the US arms delivered to them and then they voted for a islamic party which went to war with the US.

I do believe that the US Airforce should do everything they can to help. Blow up enemy tanks firing at civilians etc.

  • DaSicilian

    @Paleoconservatarian….
We are NATO…and…UN ground forces and…and…and…
