Michael Moore On Occupy Wall Street: We’re The Majority, ‘Never Forget That’

Video

Filmmaker Michael Moore, who continues his vigil at the ongoing Occupy Wall Street protest in lower Manhattan, dropped in on The Last Word to let host Lawrence O’Donnell know how things are going.

Moore kicked things off by giving a synopsis of what the protest is not about:

We’re not down here to support Senate bill 2567. We’re beyond that. They had their chance a long time ago to try and fix this. They didn’t fix it because they’re in the pocket of these people down here on Wall Street. So this is not about supporting some piece of legislation or “let’s get behind some politician.”

“It’s not about ‘policy wonkness’ or ‘Beltway bullshit,’” he continued, to the delighted soundless clapping of those around him. He also noted that he cannot believe he lives in a country where people on Wall Street haven’t had to face a single arrest while 100 peaceful protesters are arrested.

“Well, you live in a country where that kind of thing has to be protested and is being protested,” offered O’Donnell. He then turned the conversation over to a question he’d received on Twitter — a question that many have had since the protest’s inception: “I wonder if mmoore could articulate some specific, tangible goals 4 this protest, as I’ve yet 2 hear any & really would like to.” Indeed, @leenie909!

Moore said that this protest is unlike others because “there’s no membership form, there’s no one person who comes in here and says ‘Now this is our agenda and this is the way it ought to be!”

He also added that there were a whole variety of Americans participating (even “Ron Paul people”), and that they had strength in numbers:

This is our country. We’re the majority. The majority. We’re the majority. Never forget that, that the people who work for a living in this country, we are the people. Not the people up here who are taking people’s pensions and their bank accounts and ruining it and destroying their lives. They are not running this country anymore. They think they are, but that’s gonna come to an end right now.

Have a look at the video, via MSNBC. And please take note of the “Fox News camera person” behind Moore:

Strength of numbers without coherent goals does not mean much.

Moore is one of the “biggest” liberal hypocrites I’ve ever seen.  He was just on BillO talking about he hasn’t benefited from capitalism.

The liberals are bound and determined for there to be a violent revolt in this country.  I hope they are ready for the consequences.

  • Anonymous

“We’re the majority. The majority. We’re the majority. Never forget that. . . ” I can’t tell you how funny that statement is. They wanted 20,000 to protest and at the height got 1000 and maintain around 200.

  • Anonymous

No Moore, fat people make up only 30% of the america. You are not majority… ohh you are talking about commies?? Never mind

  • Pablo

No, Mike, you’re not. It’s about time you learned that. You’re about to.

  • Anonymous

I hope to be there this weekend. This is what a real movement is all about.

  • Anonymous

    Hey fatboy.
If you are looking for someone to get arrested why don’t you ask little Larry why he refuses to discuss Fast-n-Furious or Solyndra…..?

That bloated meat sack has more money than all those kids put together and he is whining about the rich like he is not one of them.
    What a bunch of suckers.

  • Anonymous

Good for you – then maybe you can relate what people are actually trying to accomplish with no goals and evidently no leaders (because they don’t want any).

  • Pablo

Yeah, you can hang out with all those unique, rugged individualist, free thinking non-sheeple!

  • Pablo

What I hear is they want to free Bradley Manning. And get arrested.

this is my country, i’m the majority, don’t forget that!…

i’m going to occupy sunset blvd and demand somebody do something…  i don’t know who, or what, but dammit, whatever it is, it needs to be fixed!…  now!…

  • Anonymous

And Beck is part of the problem!!

  • QWE

    but the tbags do?

  • Frod

Yeah there’s nothing less American than Americans fighting for their basic rights. Twat.

  • unmutual

    Liberals can’t count.

  • Sean68

Moore deserved his Academy Award like Obama deserved his Nobel. That said, Wall Street really does run the country for the benefit of the few. They own our politicians, including Obama. Most of them don’t even really think of themselves as Americans.

  • Anonymous

Such confused children these hurded sheep are.
Thay argue against the corruption of wallstreet but turn a blind eye to where that corruption comes from. Such dumb expendable animals.
They fail to see that it’s government that gives corporations it’s power. They cry like bleating goats against crony capitalism whill calling for the rise socialism. The intellectually stunted monkeys forget that crony capitalism, known better as keynesian economics, is nothing more than a lite form of socialism. In other words, the uneducated baboons want to take a poisoned system and inject even more poision into it. Is it any wonder why rational minds view “progressiveism” as nothing more than a self destructive philosophy created by uneducated children guided by emotion rather than logic and reason?

  • Austin

These people don’t stand for any political group or any kind of group they stand for the rights of the people and furthermore peaceful protest is high on their priority list.

  • Dummy123

isn’t Michael Moore a millionaire that exploits all the loopholes he hates so much?

  • Anonymous

Whether one agrees with the various Tea Party groups or not it needs to be recognized that each group has stated goals and each group has leaders.  The Occupy Wall Street group apparently has aims but as yet no plan and has not shown it will have one any time soon.

  • Anonymous

if conservatives realize the mistake they are making supporting their talk radio terrorists..theyll join us to be the majority

Lord only knows what sort of vermin teem under Moore’s rancid cap.

  • Anonymous

Yo, Michael, let us know when you actually have a point.  Thanks for playing.

  • Anonymous

    Sorry Jester…like minds!

  • Pablo

What’s Beck got to do with it? Watch the video, bright boy.

  • Pablo

And I’m gonna stand in the road until it happens!

  • Austin

Moore has always had his views even before he made movies. Becoming wealthy was never one of his goals, it was just an effect of making movies that a lot of people liked and agreed with. The amount Moore makes as a film maker is nothing compared to the top 1% of earners in America that hardly even pay taxes and are constantly trying to pay even less.

I think this is a good movement and I think it will grow. This movement stands for the future of us all.

  • Michelle

Just like peaceful liberals mobs that put the beat down on the black guy and bit the finger off of another one?  Or the multiple cases of union thuggery?  Sorry, but libs aren’t known for peaceful protest these days.

  • Michelle

So you’re down there on Wall Street?   I’m guessing your home in your boxers, eating Cheetos.

  • Anonymous

mr.moore does not represent the consensus of liberals

  • Pablo

What on Earth does this have to do with talk radio?

  • Anonymous

Are you completely delusional now Mr. Moore”. Those people aren’t even sure what they’re protesting. Strength in numbers, you say? What numbers are you counting? What majority are you referring to? Americans want Wall Street reform, but not your looney brand.
I’m fairly sure the vast majority of Americans want an end to the corruption in Wall Street and an end to the crony capitalism between them and politicians. However, I am also pretty sure the majority of Americans are staunch supporters of honest capitalism.

So why doesn’t he give all his money away to help the cause?  Oh yeah, because he’s a hypocrite!  He’s like the 2 libs BillO had on tonight that want higher taxes, but when Bill asked them if last year they gave more than required, they had to admit that they didn’t.  All talk.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_4FIXQZ45KDYLOD4QPILHSNP5CQ CSC

And of coarse the Anti-Israel poster in the background.

  • Anonymous

I think my perception is dead on.  They have been there since Saturday and are no closer to growing their “movement” than they were then.  If you (and others like you) were to be like some and actually suspend your life and commit to staying throughout the duration of the movement that would be concrete evidence that something real was happening.  If instead you and others are going to be like Moore and drop by from time to time when it is convenient to your schedule then this movement is not going to amount to much unless it can galvanize with concrete plans and begin to speak more with one voice.

  • Darladoon

maybe it’s just to shake shit up?

i mean, seriously.  do you actually expect these people to outsmart
corporate titans and hedge fund managers?

  • Anonymous

MM is hilarious…let’s all get behind him…after all there’s plenty of room…LOL

  • Darladoon

i would think that teabaggers and progressives would have common ground
    on this one.

weren’t teabaggers opposed to the bailouts of wall street banks???

  • Darladoon

    who does?

  • Darladoon

so only commies were opposed to the bailouts?

  • Jason

Sorry, but he certainly sounds like he does. There’s virtually no difference between what he says and what the liberals who frequent this website say.

  • Darladoon

maybe the goal is just to shake shit up and get a dialogue/awareness going….

    ever thought of that?

  • Darladoon

they are more popular than you think….

most americans are too lazy/tired to get up and protest….

the fact that they protests are weak and disorganized doesn’t mean that most
    americans don’t agree with them.

in fact, a poll came out this morning showing that 75% of americans want to
raise taxes on the rich.  that would mean “punishing” the “job creators” on wall st

  • Darladoon

uh, excuse me moron, but michael moore wants the government to raise his taxes

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_PKEQSTA4WOBYU5Z7QNSBUR2LXI MASSMURDERMEDIA

they’re gonna tase us, bro!…  and pepper spray our ass!…  but be strong, because sooner or later a celebrity will join us in solidarity, if only for a little face time on camera…

  • Michelle

    That Daily Ko’s poll again?

  • Michelle

So did the 2 on Bill’s show, but they’ve never voluntarily paid more in taxes than was required.  If you believed in higher taxes you would.  Unless you are a hypocrite.

  • Darladoon

    oh, michelle, shut up!!

liberals actually are very peaceful.  that’s why we protest WARS and conservatives
support them.  that’s why we’re opposed the death penalty.  that’s why we support
gay marriage and programs for the poor.  that’s why we support universal healthcare,
and why we’re opposed to torture.

you guys, on the other hand, cheer on dead uninsured people, gay soldiers
    and death penalty killings.

  • Anonymous

You should worry about your own money and not what others make.
You are not poor because others are rich.
I don’t begrudge Tubbo his money.
He earned and it is his.  The thing is that he is just another private jet limousine liberal who wants to pretend he is down with the struggle  but  who will go back to his 5,000 sq ft condo later with the concierge while those young kids are sleeping on the ground.

    He is a phony.

  • Darladoon

that’s not true, and would never be able to prove such an argument.

  • Darladoon

and what are you doing to help the world, michelle?

  • Michelle

Post any violence from a TP rally.  Let’s see which side is more violent, Darla Loon.  It’s you libs, sweetie, and you know it.

  • Mr Hyperbole

he sounds like it because you are probably a dumb conservative and only know what your talk radio prophets tell you

  • Mr Hyperbole

no one speaks for liberals…we are not conservatives where talk radio prophets speak for us…we speak for ourselves

  • Anonymous

We have 3 wars going on and i haven’t seen any protests in about oh……3 years maybe…Now why do you suppose that is?

  • Anonymous

Some folks really need to ask themselves what the possible result will be if nothing happens regarding taxes and corporations. It´s a time bomb and the longer nothing happens the more likely a powerful rebellion becomes.

Simple, as that. Should it happen, the events at Wall Street these days will be regarded in history books as early indicators for the forming of a powerful rebellion.

This country characterized more precisely by the term plutocracy than the term democracy (spare me the nonsense about it was neverr intended as democracy) shows worrying indications to become a second world country.  The number of prisoners, the growing debt, the dysfunctional political system, the sharp social and political conflicts, the bleak outlook for the future as competitor in a global economy etc.. I mean it doesn´t take a genius to figure the consequences out.

I don´t care about Moore as a person. But that not a single person responsible for the economic crash was arrested speaks volumes about how bad things are. Sends also a clear message who really is in power.

  • Anonymous

Wow..it didn’t take long for you to prove his point… Kudos

  • Darladoon

i haven’t argued that there was a violence at a TP rally.

    i’m talking about POLICY, michelle.

liberals don’t support policies that harm workers, the environment, the sick,
    the elderly, or minorities.

conservatives only care about one group of people:  rich christians.

  • Darladoon

    thank you

  • Michelle

I’m trying to educate you liberals.  Sadly, it’s a losing battle.

  • Mr Hyperbole

oh michelle sweetie..you have it all wrong..stop listening to glenn beck

  • Darladoon

even 60% of the GOP supports taxing the rich.

    60%!!!!!!!

  • Anonymous

Start the arrests with Frank & Dodd.

  • Darladoon

    voluntary doesn’t work, michelle!

    are you that empty-headed?

in order to actually make a dent in the debt, you have to REQUIRE that people
    pay more….otherwise, it’s pointless.

  • Darladoon

we are in debt because others are rich

there’s only so much money out there, right?

the money didn’t just disappear when the recession hit.

it moved from one pocket to another pocket.

  • Anonymous

you idiots are 20% of this nation, settle down junior, you’re not going anywhere.

  • Darladoon

like most americans, you’ve never been to a protest in your entire life.

    it’s hard work.  trust me.

and they are difficult, tiresome, costly…

    Lyndon LaRouche Is behind this

  • Darladoon

75% of americans want to tax the rich.

so, mr. moore is fundamentally correct

  • Darladoon

i see protests almost every day

not sure where you live……probably not in a major city….

which you said brings in 80 billion a year…..so what about the other 1.25 trillion we overspend each year?

  • Darladoon

just the thought that you, michelle, would educate us is utterly ridiculous

you have to be the least educated person here….

  • Mr Hyperbole

    http://youtu.be/mVD5pdS9EOw

and also did you forget the lady trampled at the rand paul rally

and yes they are both supported by tea party groups

ill give you more if you already forgot..sweetie!

  • Darladoon

mr. moore is talking about anger at wall street….

weren’t the teabaggers opposed to the bailouts of walls street?

and why do 75% of americans want to tax the rich?

    mr.  moore is correct.

  • Darladoon

so ceasing aid to israel and asking them to end the occupation is

    “anti-israel”?

sounds more like pro-humanity to me….

  • Mr Hyperbole

HAHAHA..just because i agree with michael moore doesnt make him my leader

  • Anonymous

Anyone notice the three very serious looking gentlemen surrounding Moore….?
He had his own security detail.
At the 2:43 mark the camera panned all three of them.
Three bald guys with their hands folded watching the crowd like a hawk.
Apparently Mr. Revolution brought his own army.

  • Darladoon

    cjd–

so your argument is that the government should just say NO to 80 billion/year

or close to 1 TRILLION DOLLARS over 10 years?

    that’s your argument????

you can’t possibly be that dumb.

    or, maybe you are.

    you do live in ohio.

no, they’re trying to draw attention to something…..

they are also exercising free speech rights

wasn’t the tea party opposed to wall street bailouts?

so, i have to ask:  what is the tea party’s plan?

Obeezy, you are so right. Protests to the wars (count ‘em – 3!) have practically disappeared these last 3 years, or if they still exist, the MSM now refuse to report on it. Wow, here all this time I thought we did tax the rich. Hey, Darla, You’re from SF? Marin County? Interesting that Marin County is one of the top 25 counties in the UNITED STATES for per capita income. That makes you pretty rich compared to the 25th lowest county in the US, Hidalgo County TX. I pretty much bet that your county’s $87,728 per capita makes Hidalgo’s $9,899 look pretty ritzy. When can we expect you to cough it up for the poor folks of Hidalgo?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lowest-income_counties_in_the_United_States

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Highest-income_counties_in_the_United_States

In fact, Darla, I’d venture a guess that your county is in the top 99% of the richest counties in the US. And please, enlighten us as to why you deserve TEN TIMES more income than the good folks in Hidalgo County. Are you creating ten times more jobs?

  • Pablo

And the answer to this is occupation? That’s like screwing for virginity.

I’ve been trading stocks and making money doing it since my job got outsourced. I will keep doing it but I support the protests. I am a capitalist I think we used to live in a great country where people could buy shares in a company with new ideas and grow along with the company and I would be proud to say I make money that way. Big wall street firms have computers now that do high speed trading that skims a few pennies off of each share day after day IMO from your IRA accounts. Small companies with big ideas fall victim to predatory fiance schemes where the only ones who make money are the finance firms who make money by shorting the stock in pipe finance deals—-the company and investors loose it all. There’s one gambling scheme after another where the big firms play a high stakes poker game with our bank deposits. In other words America’s financial products have become as shoddy as the products “made in China” that we are stuck buying. I make money because I figured out the game but It’s no way to run a country. Sadly I don’t think the protests will do anything to stop the wall street pick pockets from taking our cash but I stand behind the protestors because I hope one day to be able to respect our financial institutions again. They need us investing to stay in business.
    remember that!

People might be more willing to pay a few more taxes if the gov’t would DRASTICALLY cut spending, but Obama’s answer is to spend more.  How dense do you have to be to see that with the amount of spending going on, you could tax the ” rich” 100% and it wouldn’t pay off our debt?  You’re polices suck which is why Obama’s approval is flat-lining.  Wake up!

  • Anonymous

Why is it absurd, or a notch above utterly retarded? Moore wants to pay more. No one is stopping him. He can pay more any time he wants. How do you get through life so stupid??? Free cheese? I just regret that I don’t save your greatest hits. You are as persistent as a lapdog, for sure. Dolt.

  • Bal

I’m not american nor do i support democrats or republicans. It’s pretty clear what these people are protesting. It’s also pretty clear that this is not a left vs right issue but but more about the failures of a system that only supports the elite few (sure the people protesting are probably liberals and have liberal views but that is not the issue). What i don’t understand is why you keep demeaning the protesters while supporting the banks and corporations who don’t have your interests at heart and never will. You are so indoctrinated in the right wing mentality that you can’t see what these people are doing is a good thing, this is what democracy is about. Your founding fathers would have supported this type of action. The elites are afraid. You only have to look at how the police responded with excessive force to know that this is what they fear most, people who have woken up and are no longer passive to what they are doing and how they are controlling you.

The tea party is different, because the people while may have had genuine concerns about where the country was headed and what state it was in is no longer relevant, due to the republicans seizing the opportunity to play on peoples fears and concerns. It has become a faction of the republicans, a movement that lost it’s way very quickly.

You truly fail to see your hypocrisy because you are so blinded by ideology. And that’s ok, i am hypocritical and biased on many issues and situations but at least i can admit it when i am.
I am a big fan of America and what you stand for or used to stand for, should i say. No longer the saying ‘America is greatest country in the world’ is plausible when your leaders have failed so many of your people. You have to stop and look at the real issues and why things are the way they are and its not because of just one party as to why you have lost your way its both of them who have sold your people out.

I don’t expect you to change your opinion on the issue because as i said you are very blinded by ideology but just know that these people are fighting actually for your interests as well, while the people you support and defend so vigorously are not.

  • Pablo

When THAT doesn’t get close to the 1.7 TRILLION we spend EVERY YEAR, we can just lower that to $100,000, right, because those stinking “rich” people earn too much. And when THAT doesn’t touch the annual deficit, we can lower the bar to those making $50,000, because they must be millionaires and billionaires too! Darla, you’ve got major problems.

First off the Tea Party is not mine and it is difficult to see how one would consider any movement “artificial” when it has had the effect the Tea Party had through the last election cycle and continues to have going into the next one.  I do not agree with everything espoused in the the name of the Tea Party but I do want to see the role of government lessened as much as practical.  I also agree with those who want to lessen the impact of the big money providers in our political system which includes not only the Wall Street types but also the big unions which are almost as bad.

Yes, all the rightwingers hate Michael Moore which is understandable – he’s very effective. These people are doing what the rest of this country should be doing. Instead of following the antics of the Tea Partiers and/or sitting on their fat rumps, real rightwingers and defenders of the Constitution should be out joining the protestors. This is what a real Tea Party would call for. What the Occupy Wall Street protestors are doing is planting the seeds of popular discontent and opposition to our whacked out and corrupt political and corporate system. Why the Tea Party is not being taken seriously by the majority of people is simply because they are only dealing with a small part of the problem. Wall Street runs the government whether it’s Democrat or Republican. And nothing in the Tea Party’s agenda shows any understanding of how the world works. All you want to do is get rid of Obama because he’s a socialist, fascist. foreigner, racist (!), and , of course, incompetent. Hopefully, we’re beginning to see the beginning of a large scale movement of true populists. For obvious reasons, the media is only beginning to cover this story, but they will be forced to because there will be more and more people out on the  streets around the country, and it will all be non-violent. I’m a straight New York businessman and I’m going down to Wall Street tomorrow. I was actually down there the other day in a slightly different area by the World Trade center and saw hundreds of men in airline uniforms protesting. Wake up America and get on the ‘right’ side of history. You’ve allowed yourselves to be brainwashed by The Koch Bros and some of the most venal people on Wall Street who want to control our lives for their benefit.

I must be really bored if I’m bothering to explain this to you.

OK, I said: “Americans want Wall Street reform, but not your looney brand.”(meaning anti-capitalist, which I assumed as a given)

I went on to say: “I’m fairly sure the vast majority of Americans want
an end to the corruption in Wall Street and an end to the crony
capitalism between them and politicians. However, I am also pretty sure
the majority of Americans are staunch supporters of honest capitalism.”

The point I was making was that Moore spoke as though the majority of
Americans want to take down all of Wall Street in the Michael Moore
fashion. I can’t imagine most people have that view, but rather my view
that reform without tearing them all down in a wholesale manner is the solution.

Now, saying that Moore is “fundamentally right” about that by jumping to
some poll about 75% of Americans want to tax the rich is off topic and a
giant leap in supporting Moore’s statement. Referring to the poll set up a false comparison and a diversion of attention.

As to the “numbers”, yes, I find the poll suspect. What were those polled responding to. All of the rich or the rich who are taking unfair advantage of loopholes and not paying their fair share?

  • repwin2012

teabaggers? Very derisive Darla. I thought you were a peace lover. Try harder to be what you claim to be. Maybe you should stop posting for awhile. Maybe visit a Tea Party rally in your big metropolitan area. You’ll meet some genuinely nice folks there. Could actually be a good influence on you. Yes, we are pro life, no, we don’t think too kindly of murderous criminals. We do believe you can get about as far as you want, if you’re willing to work and be disciplined. We’re not too crazy about greedy people, but not everyone is greedy because they have more than us. If that were the case, then Michael Moore would qualify. Instead, he is a hipocritical liberal hero.

So you believe that the federal govt that got us into 14+Trillion worth of debt is going to do anything with revenue other than pizz it away and come back with their hand out for more? More importantly, why do you believe the millionaires should have their burden raised to offset irresponsible govt spending? I actually do realize that taxes have to go up along with spending going way down to fix this problem, but why should those who pay the lions share of taxes now carry the load for you, me, or anyone else? What  entitles us to lay it off on somebody else simply because they are successful? The only fair way is to raise taxes across the board, and eliminate any loopholes or credits such as earned income that only serves to redistribute income. I have no use for entitlement mentality.

  • repwin2012

It sounds good in theory. It wouldn’t even come close to solving our crisis. It would however, make those suffering with class envy feel a bit better I suppose. “TAX THE RICH, TAX THE RICH” Wow, that really feels good to say. I am so poor, and I don’t much feel like workin’.

    >> Rron: “Don’t pay any mind to the trolls talking about “incoherent messages.”
Listen to what Michael Moore is saying. You can’t get any more
    coherent than that.”

    Really????
Well, okay, let’s give that a try then, shall we?

MICHAEL MOORE (QUOTE FROM THE CLIP): “Right, a lot of people have been asking this question. What are the goals, what are the demands? What you have to understand about this protest is, this is unlike any other protest that you’ve seen in your lifetime. Because there’s no dues-paying organization that we all belong to. You know, there’s no membership form. There’s no one person that comes in here and says “Now this is our agenda and this is the way it’s gonna be.” There are a variety of demands and concerns within this group. I can say what some of mine are, but don’t mistake that with the breadth of this group…”

…Blah, blah, blah…never actually answers the question…and instead just drones on, the way Moore always drones on about absolutely NOTHING.

Sorry, Rron, but if THAT is your idea of “coherent”… where the best that Fat Boy can come up with is an incredibly LAME and totally VAGUE statement like “there are a variety of demands”… than I can only assume you’re currently on drugs for Attention Deficit Disorder. Simply because it’s obvious that the synapses in your brain are firing all over the map, which would explain why non sequitur, non-sensible bullsh*t appeals to you.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

But, no matter how many times you watch Star Wars, you cannot will wealth from demonizing those that have it. Wealth comes from the implementation of capital or work.

It seems only a few of the leftists out there understand that.

Even in the leftist dystopian creations like North Korea, work is the only thing there creating wealth. Even they can see the truth to it. Since they HAVE NO CAPITAL, they have no wealth.

We can show you leftist twits example after example but you still will say the sky is red. Such fools.

that’s how you LOWER costs and/or increase REVENUE

    It is?

    Health costs to rise again

The higher insurance costs undermine a key tenet of the state’s landmark health care law passed two years ago, as well as President Obama’s effort to overhaul health care. In addition to mandating insurance for most residents, the Massachusetts bill sought to rein in health care costs. With Washington looking to the Massachusetts experience, fears about higher costs have become a stumbling block to passing a national health care bill.
“It’s all about medical costs going up,’’ said Brian Pagliaro, senior vice president at Tufts Health Plan in Watertown, which predicts an average increase of 9.5 percent for 2010. “The dollar you’re paying now will be $1.09 for the same service next year.’’

Poll: Public pegs Washington waste at all-time high

The American public’s confidence in how the federal government spends money has hit an all-time low, with the average person estimating that Washington wastes 51 cents of every dollar it spends, according to a new poll Monday.

The Gallup survey revealed that Americans believe for the first time that more than half of government spending is wasted, marking a new high since Gallup first started asking about the issue in 1979.

Hey, how about we send Mikey and Larry and all those useful idiots on Wall Street to Mike’s favorite country, Cuba.  You know Cuba, that bastion of healthcare and worker fairness.  Or how about to the waiting arms of Hugo or hey maybe to those peaceful and tolerant humanitarians in Iran.
Of course Mikey would not actually want to live there, he would have to give up all his money and mansions and potential power, because, as a former American, he would not be trusted.  No what Mikey really wants is to bring Cuba to us, because he sees himself at the top of the food chain getting a piece of the pie while all those masses on Wall street pay to watch all his movies and keep him in cheeseburgers.
As for the real majority, in his world, we would all be lined up against a wall and shot.

  • Dflojak

You are about as brain dead as they come darlaloon. How about more jobs for a trifecta. That would give you two of the obvious negatives to job growth along with the cry of the whitehouse, more jobs. Oh, wait, they’re not looking for more jobs, they’re looking for more targets to blame their ineptness on. My bad.

  • Dflojak

Did you say the second sentence while staring in the toilet. Then, I might agree, but as purdy as you are that could be an extremely scary movement.

  • Dflojak

Too lazy/tired to protest. But what about the teabaggers. Oh that’s right, it’s only liberals that are too tired and lazy to protest. Remember, they have to walk to the mailbox to pick up their govmnt check once a month, that wears you out. Hmmm, darla, you’re undermining your old stupid self again.

  • Dflojak

Shake shit up, I thought that happened when the magic negro was elected. Unfortunately, the magic is gone. The only sustainable movement the left has brought forth in the last 3 years is one I just flushed down the toilet. And again, as I have stated on numerous occasions darlaloon, the 75% wanting to tax the rich question gets that response based on how the question is asked. Of course poor or middle class want the rich taxed more. That’s like asking a kid if he wants more ice cream. The answer will almost invariably be yes. Really stupid statement Darla, but nothing more than can be expected of a brain dead moron.

What I dont understand is why anyone would protect Wall Street on this one.  To all the posters deriding the protesters – do you not understand we were all ripped off by Wall Street?  They made billions on fees building up bogus investments then collected insurance money when they failed (as they knew they would).  The housing market went through the roof then collapsed ruining millions of people.

And you have the time to mock a few people that want this dealt with?  I dont get it.  You want to be sheep and just let these business get away with this epic and massive theft?  Why would you want that?

    Unemployed? Get educated!

    What is a “Paid Troller”?
People who are paid for posting FUD content (Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt) at the bottom of online articles in order to discredit the author.

    What is a “HoneyPot”?
A deceptive website set up as a “false flag” to lure targeted groups of people to post comments and/or register their personal information. The info is

then correlated against other online data to identify those people.

If I post from my home, can my street address be identifed?
Yes! All computers have a MAC address that can be tracked down through the supplier who sold you your computer. Also your external IP address (the

ID code used to connect you to the internet) can be correlated to your previous online activity. Google calls it “finding a needle in a haystack.” And of

course, the Google Street View cars have already photographed your street front.

How can I safely get involved?
MAKE TIME AND PLAN YOUR TRAVELS so you can post from hotel lobby computers or any other non-managed public kiosk that is not near your

home. Public libraries typically require your library card to be swiped and should be avoided. Internet cafes offer no safety unless the computer is public.
DON’T WORRY if you’ve already posted from home because there is a considerable degree of ‘security in obscurity.’ Just don’t make it a habit!

    What should I post?
Educate your worldwide brothers and sisters on these topics.Do it often and BE CONCISE!!!
MOST IMPORTANTLY, have a positive intention, imagine what a peaceful world would be like and conjure a joyful feeling of that already being in place.

What are the Banksters MOST worried about?
    1) exposure of the operations of the Federal Reserve Bank and fractional lending
    2) people losing confidence in paper currency and bartering instead
    3) people avoiding mainstream news media (mainstream news induces fear and generates hopelessness
    4) positive thinking and self-awareness of individuals
    5) anonymous mass resistance as described above

Remember that your identity is not important… only your ideas… which can go viral. We love you. Good luck!

That is the only kind of hero liberals worship.

I have yet to hear any talk of basic rights, and no fighting except with the police who arrest them and throw their sorry butts in jail. I say good luck to them with that fighting the police thing, that is a real loser battle to pick if you ask me.

Yeah, assault on an officer is kind of frowned upon.

Darla, do you know what equity is? Equity is the difference between what your house is worth and what you owe on your mortgage (if you are not underwater). Do you understand that? When the housing market tanked, not everyone lost their homes to foreclosure. I lost $100,000 in EQUITY because my house was suddenly worth less. The equity DISAPPEARED. Do you understand now? Yes, that $100K evaporated into thin air. And you call ME dumb?

Pop quiz, why can’t politicians help us out of debt? Because our money is created out of debt; it is a debt based monetary system. Our money is created initially by the purchase of U.S. bonds. The public buys bonds, the banks buy bonds, foreigners buy bonds and when the FED wants to create more money in the system it buys bonds but pays for them with a book keeping entry which it creates out of nothing. This is fractional reserve banking. Then this new money created out of thin air is multiplied by 10 by the banks. This is inflationary and is why the world is going broke since the IMF took this concept and made it international.

I like how Michael Moore talks against capitalism and sits mighty comfy from the fruit capitalism produces. Lets end capitalism for his movies and socialize his profits so people can get some money. The government in bed with Wall Street is not capitalism. People protesting against capitalism are ignorant. Real capitalism would stop what is happening. We need capital and private businesses. What we don’t need is the debt based money system and the common person picking up the tab for the elite who don’t want to fail. That is what is bleeding the country dry.

“To cause high prices, all the Federal Reserve Board will do will be to lower the rediscount rate, producing an expansion of credit and a rising stock market; then when business men are adjusted to these conditions, it can check prosperity in mid career by arbitrarily raising the rate of interest. It can cause the pendulum of a rising and falling market to swing gently back and forth by slight changes in the discount rate, or cause violent fluctuations by a greater rate variation and in either case it will possess inside information as to financial conditions and advance knowledge of the coming change, either up or down. This is the strangest, most dangerous advantage ever placed in the hands of a special privilege class by any Government that ever existed. The system is private, conducted for the sole purpose of obtaining the greatest possible profits from the use of other people’s money. They know in advance when to create panics to their advantage, They also know when to stop panic. Inflation and deflation work equally well for them when they control finance.” – Rep. Charles Lindbergh

Sadly the average person knows nothing about modern money mechanics, fractional reserve banking and the creature from Jekyll Island. I encourage you to learn about it because you will be impacted by all this in the end.

I don’t understand why people are fighting here..

The occupy wall street movement is trying to make America a better place. Why did your parents or your grandparents move to America?  To find a better place to live..? Well now the residence of America are attempting to boot the corruption of our system so your grandchildren can have somewhere to live. So we don’t have clear cut goals, you know exactly what we’re out here fighting for. You know the system is corrupt but choose to live inside of it. Your grandparents chose NOT to live inside of the corrupt system of their homeland and went in search of a better place to live. Take a cue from them and do something about the state you are living in. If you align yourself with the tea partiers, great, try and use that forum to the best of your abilities. Unfortunately  a mass amount of Americans feel that the road can’t be traveled with politicians, because they are the people that got us here. So the occupy wall street movement is out here waiting for the rest of the world to join, and they will. We are simply standing up and saying no more to injustices in our homeland.

Pick that whole paragraph apart it doesn’t matter. The wall street movement is asking for an un-corrupt society. What are you asking for?

What happened to the “END FINANCIAL AID TO ISRAEL” sign just behind Moore in the begiining of the interview? MSNBC censorship or was the sign carrier threatened by a AIPAC stooge?

if you don’t understand what the protest is about- you should wander back to your cave and kill yourself.

  • http://twitter.com/BC00000 BC

you are right- it’s been a long time coming. no one cares? you do.. because you are following the protest. as for the majority- it’s just simple math. see, big business and their gov’t supporters forgot one important factor– what happens when the well runs dry? you can’t take the majority’s money if…they have no income or savings. in the past, the majority would normally be too busy WORKING overtime to take care of their families and to avoid drowning in inflation/corruption… but, those days are long gone.

  • http://twitter.com/BC00000 BC

are you joking? you really don’t understand what the protest is about?

  • http://twitter.com/BC00000 BC

UN Security Council determine UN human rights violations. Only a very few countries do not commit significant human rights violations, according to Amnesty International. In their 2004 human rights report the Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, Iceland and Costa Rica are the only countries that did not violate human rights.

Why should I understand what the protest are about when those showing up don’t understand what they are protesting for, other than it’s “the place to be”?

I understand frustration with this Obama Administration and with Big Government who interferes with our lives and tries to tell us what to do, what to think, what to eat, and when.  Now if those protesters feel the same about Big Government and the Obama Administration who, by the way, is supported wholeheartedly and financially by those very Wall St. lobbyists and bankers (Goldman Sachs for example) that these people claim are the problem, then maybe we are on the same side.

But what I see is a mob of anarchists who only want to start trouble for the sake of starting trouble and PRETENDING, or deluding themselves,  that they have any say…other than at the ballot box in Nov. 2012.  What exactly do they want?  They sure don’t seem to know.

Uncorrupt society?  You are asking for Nirvana, which does not exist.  However, we can work toward the ideas and values that made the US great.  You rail against all politicians, but without people to represent us, there is no country and there is no government.  We are a nation of 330,000,000 people live together and must make some rules to live by, without destroying our individual freedoms.  The larger the country grows, the more difficult that becomes.

The only way to change anything in any government is by putting pressure on politicians and let them know that lobbyists do not represent the majority of the people.  The Tea Party did just that in 2010.  They had a clear objective to put a stop to mindless government spending and to bring our National Debt down to more reasonable levels, and also to stop the Big Government people from turning this into a Nanny State and allow for individual freedom, creativity and upward mobility.  Now if the people who Occupy Wall St. have some clear objectives, and not just some silly old rhetroic that is used to simply get an emotional reaction from some people, then let’s hear it.

UNSC has nothing to do with this

And the right they are beefing about is what – their perceived right to take money from the rich to have for themselves?

The United Nations appointed Iran to the Women’s Rights commission while Iran jails women for having suntans.

How about The United nations electing Iran to the Disarmament Commission, whose mission includes preventing the spread of nuclear weapons.

The United Nations is full of ignorant idiots and haters of the United States.
