Sorry Larry: White House Party Crashers Give Exclusive Interview To Today Show

crashers_11-39At first, the White House party crashers, Michaele and Tareq Salahi, were set to appear on Larry King’s 9pmET CNN show tonight – but they “postponed” the interview.

After rumors the couple wanted a large sum of money to appear in a TV interview, we now know where they’ll end up – tomorrow morning on Today.

NBC announced the Salahis will appear tomorrow morning in an interview with Matt Lauer. The exclusive means – conceivably – King and CNN could get a second interview (a “cable exclusive” perhaps?) tomorrow night.

We’ve reached out to NBC to see if the interview will be live, in studio and if any money changed hands between the two sides. NBC has a policy, like most networks, not to pay for interviews.

> Update: The interview will be live, via satellite from D.C. From an NBC spokesperson: “Absolutely no money was exchanged. We do not pay for interviews and we did not pay for this one. We did not license any material.”

> Update 2: A good point made by FishbowlDC on Twitter – The interview is granted to an NBCU outlet. The rumors are the couple is in line for a potential starring role on Bravo’s upcoming Real Housewives of DC…another NBCU network.

Aw, that picture isn’t fair Steve.

Biden was just excited that he had been let out of his room for the evening, someone wanted to take a picture with him. Look at him, he looks so happy.

    *Sigh*

Even when he’s taking a picture, he manages a gaffe.

Yes, as opposed to shooting your friend in the face and getting him to apologize. No, that’s not a gaffe. It’s criminal but, then so is the Dick!

  • roxsteady roxsteady says:

Sorry but, I couldn’t resist. This is just too easy!

    Well… no it’s not criminal… it’s an accident. There’s a difference.

    But whatever…

    You guys are dorks.

I know you are, but what am I?! ;)

  • roxsteady roxsteady says:

No, you’re right that it wasn’t criminal but, getting the guy you shot to apologize to you should be. However, outing a CIA operative and authorizing torture is. But, whatever….

    Good night dicks!

I wonder if they will bring the emails they exchanged with the Pentagon official who was working on their behalf to get them access to the function.

As for Rox — give it a rest, bone up on your facts, and remember: Bush/Cheney have been out of office for nearly a year, not to mention Dick Armitage was the leaker.

Who are you talking about? Oh yeah, Richard Armitage… the guy who leaked the Plame info… I remember? Do you?

Jay Leno Explains The Letterman Promo: “A Good Joke Is A Good Joke”

    video

The most buzzed about commercial during the CBS broadcast of the Super Bowl? The 15 second promo for Late Night with David Letterman that featured David Letterman, Oprah and Jay Leno. Almost immediately upon airing the spot, one could almost hear the viewing audience ask collectively "how did that happen?" We learned a bit from the NY Times last night, and tonight we heard from Leno, who shared his side of the story.

O’Reilly: “Some Of These Tea Party People Are Nuts . . . They’re Crazy”

    video

The National Tea Party convention was held this weekend in Nashville, Tennessee, and has, predictably, been a hot topic on cable news. Tonight Bill O'Reilly took his turn, discussing the third party phenomenon/movement with Fox News pundit Brit Hume and offered a frank and candid assessment on some of the participants of the Tea Party movement. "Some of these tea party people are nuts! They are! They're crazy!" Video after the jump.
