Watch Sen. Marco Rubio Save Nancy Reagan From Falling After Losing Her Balance

video

Sen. Marco Rubio was invited to speak at an event last night at the Reagan Library, where he spoke about the former president’s contributions to the nation and the modern conservative movement. But he also played a pivotal role in the safety of former First Lady Nancy Reagan, who he accompanied to her seat and helped stay on her feet as she lost her balance.

According to the Fox News report, Rubio gave his speech, spoke to members of the audience afterwards, and discussed later on television the rumors that he may end up on the bottom of the 2012 Republican ticket. But long before that, he helped Mrs. Reagan stay upright, with several other audience members, saving her from a fall that would’ve likely put her in the hospital. If the conservative infatuation with the Florida-based Republican wasn’t at its peak before, it’s hard to imagine something that would endear him more to them than literally sweeping in to save the wife of the greatest icon in the modern American right from imminent danger.

Below is the video via Fox News:

Her nurse is thinking…”I do that all the time. Why i’m not trending on twitter or on Fox News. Oh that’s right… Fox/GOP wants Rubio to run for office and they’re pumping him up to the public. “

  • Anonymous

Way to be a douche about someone doing a nice thing.

P.S. As an RN let me say this…. “That’s what we’re paid to do.”

  • B W

Nancy Reagan falls all the time? Really? ‘Cause if that were true, she’d be dead by now. And FOX, as bad as they are, have no influence of Marco, he’s his own man, and decided not to run for President or VP.

  • Anonymous

Perhaps Rubio should have employed the Democrat/SEIU tactic and beat her down in the street? Would that have been more preferable to you?

  • The Real Royal Emperor

Yes, it was a polite, gentlemanly thing to do.

I saw it on the Daily Mail (UK) website before I saw it anywhere else.  If you watch the video, he makes a great catch, holding her up before she hits the floor, saving her from a potential broken hip or other broken bones.  No hype by any of your “enemies” necessary.  It was a great story, in its own right.

And why wouldn’t conservatives want Rubio to run for office?

    Ronnie through Marco -

I watched this twice, and the second time, I noticed something: Mrs. Reagan begins to fall after Senator Rubio turns to her, and seemingly loosens his grip. It does not take away from his heroics. He saved her from potentially serious injury; maybe even her life (how many times have we heard of elderly folks breaking their hip and never getting out of the hospital alive). But imagine if he had not caught her. Would that end his career, turning him into the guy who dropped Mrs. Reagan?

The amazing thing:  Rubio believes that gravity is only a theory.

  • HIHIHI

    hahaha

  • Texan

There’s that “progressive” mindset we’ve come to know…

  • Texan

Why did you have to change names to make that truly idiotic comment?

  • Anonymous

It was the least he could after pushing her over, the guy was more concerned about the photo opp.

  • Anonymous

Nacho, as usual, you are full of beans.  And your comment was cheesy.

  • GoNavy

Only 25% of broken hips recover completely. This article sure brought out quite the A list of liberal hate mongers, I’m sure many more will be following.  Congrats for not disappointing.

  • Anonymous

There is a special place in Hell for libs like you.

  • Sam

Truly I was simply trying to point out how this could have gone very badly, not only for her, but for him. Now I feel cheap.

  • Berserk1976

I don’t get excited over a possible Romney, Perry, Bachman, Palin, Gingerich or even Ryan presidency. But something about Rubio is clicking with me.

He speaks well if not better than Obama, e.g. able to deliver an impassioned speech without being tethered to a teleprompter. His ethnic background is humble yet noble. He can never be accused of elitism considering his “everyman” educational background. He is telegenic without appearing Hollywood-y. And… he can corner the Hispanic vote. It would be foolish for the Republicans not to pick him at least as the VP candidate.

what is not a theory is that you are a truly detestable, ignorant lib.

BTW, Newton believed in God! “Newton saw God as the masterful creator whose existence could not be denied in the face of the grandeur of all creation”

P.S._ Barry believes in God! Can ya believe that libby? He, Clinton, Reid and Pelosi believe in God- and he is just a theory!

You will never be the man your wife is.

  • Anonymous

    “love and expect.”

  • GoNavy

I didn’t mean you, the usual haters are here.  Mrs. Reagan has always been quite the lady. You are correct to state this could have been a potential serious injury. I’m sure she is osteoporotic, and the sequlae from a hip fracture at her age could be devastating.

  • Anonymous

Something that is completely foreign to you.

  • Anonymous

Watch the video. When you assist a fragile elderly lady walk, you are her support.

He was too wrapped up in mugging for the cameras, his duty of helping the nice old lady walk came in second.

  • Anonymous

    he’s a good human being.  you wouldn’t undetstand…

  • Anonymous

Brains aren’t everything and in your case, they are nothing.

Stuff your hate up your repulsive libby rear!

  • Anonymous

Middle America wont accept the pretty boy with a lisp.

  • Dandkenton

Rubio is a rare and honest politician???  If he’s rare and honest, he’s no politician!  And, in all fairness to the others, Rubio actually held onto her arm while the 2 other individuals prevented her from falling to the floor.

  • Anonymous

I have watched it.  And I just watched it again.  He is looking right at her when she trips.  I don’t know what he could have done any better.

I do know that no matter WHAT he had done, you would have found something to criticize.  And, if it had been the Big “0″ escorting her, you would have written that it was the greatest, most heroic deed ever done for an elderly person, anywhere.  And it would have run on every network and cable news show every 15 minutes or so for the next two weeks.

  • Michelle

    Future President Rubio looks good.

  • Anonymous

It says more that a big story on a web site came out of someone doing something nice and acting like a gentleman than the actual story itself.

Same for it being on a TV news channel.

Is it really that unusual for someone to not be an asshole?

  • Norbit

That would be “Vice-President Marco Rubio”:, Frances.

  • Norbit

That would be “Vice-President Marco Rubio”:, Frances.

  • Anonymous

    They did in Florida.

Maybe you think Senators are appointed?

  • Anonymous

Don’t bother. He only sees what the crack wants him to see.

  • Michelle

That would be great!  I would say that would help us win Florida, but I just read today that Barry is even losing to Ron Paul in FL!  I’d say Florida is safe.

  • Anonymous

After he’s done showing his pearly whites to thecameras, he turns to her lowering his arm which she is counting on for support.  After he lowers his arm and lowers support for the hand pat picture opp, down she goes.

  • Norbit

…but never underestimate the GOP’s proven ability to turn victory into defeat; and why can’t anyone in the GOP leadership clearly articulate the party’s principles and reasoning in supporting the positions they do?

  • Michelle

He doesn’t think at all.  That’s the problem.

  • Anonymous

I would support Rubio in a heartbeat.

  • Anonymous

Those idiots also elected Rick Scott. What’s your point?

  • Anonymous

So you are saying that he held onto her arm, thereby slowing down her descent and most likely preventing her fall. If he hadn’t had her arm, the SS probably wouldn’t have been there in time to catch her body. They all did a good thing preventing her from being hurt. It doesn’t matter what philosophy you believe in, no sane person would want her to fall and be injured, especially at her age.

  • Billy Sunday

You’re a male nurse?  Is your last name Fawker?  Good job Gaylord!!!
