Biden Pounds Fist in Speech Explaining Why He Took His Kids to Dachau: ‘I Wanted Them to See!’
President Joe Biden yelled while addressing the current conflict between Hamas and Israel, noting that he made sure to educate all of his children on the horrors of the Holocaust.
On Wednesday, the president addressed the conflict while speaking to a group of Jewish community leaders by reiterating the United States’ support for Israel and condemning anti-Semitism.
Over the weekend, Hamas attacked Israel via land, sea, and air in one of the deadliest days for the country in decades. Israel has responded by mobilizing its military and launching airstrikes into Gaza City.
Biden discussed the necessity of opposing anti-Semitism to reduce the acts of hate and violence against Jews all around the world.
“We must all do our part and forcefully speak out against anti-Semitism and push back against the attempts to deny, distort the facts,” Biden said. “To make clear there is no place for hate in America. Not against Jews. Not against Muslims, not against anybody.”
The president then praised the Jewish community for their history of “enduring strength and spirit” despite exile and genocide. Biden then began screaming when he mentioned how he would make all of his children and grandchildren visit concentration camps in Europe to teach them about the significance of the Holocaust.
“That’s why I took my kids. Everyone, when they turn 14 years old, one at a time, put them on a plane and took them to Dachau,” Biden continued. “I wanted them to see that you could not not know what was going on walking through those gates! You could not fail to understand as a country what was going on! That’s a fact! It had a profound impact on my children and my grandchildren. Some thought taking a 14-year-old grandchild does not make sense. I took them one at a time.”
