‘Diversity Is Definitely Not Our Strength’: Adam Carolla Rejects Idea Multiculturalism Is Automatically Good
Count Adam Carolla out when it comes to the slogan “diversity is our strength.”
The veteran podcaster and comic said he does not buy it during the Friday episode of his weekly show with Dr. Drew Pinsky, with Carolla arguing multiculturalism leads to a grip of societal issues if people from diverse backgrounds do not rally around a set of common beliefs and norms.
“By the way, the ‘Diversity is a good thing,’ I haven’t signed off on that. No one has showed me why it’s a good thing,” Carolla said.
He went on, “Diversity is definitely not our strength. I’m in Los Angeles — everyone speaking 17 different languages is definitely not our strength.”
Pinsky then asked him how it could be “abstractly good.”
Carolla said it has to be like a professional baseball team, where White and Black American players are playing alongside guys from Japan and the Dominican Republic; if the players all follow the same signs, they’ll be golden.
“But if you’re all just doing you’re own thing… well then we’re f*cked,” Carolla said. “Then the team’s f*cked, and that’s what we’re experiencing [in America].”
He then pointed to Somali immigration as a prime example of diversity not helping the USA. The New York Post reported last year billions of taxpayer dollars were ripped off in Minnesota, with the scheme orchestrated by “dozens of people — the vast majority from Minnesota’s Somali community.”
“You wanna come here from Somalia and blend right in and learn the language and salute the flag, we got no problems,” Carolla said. “You wanna break off into your own ghetto and rape the system and speak your own language, now we got a problem. Which is what’s going on.”
President Donald Trump has made it clear he feels the same way about Somalis.
“They contribute nothing. I don’t want them in our country, I’ll be honest with you,” Trump told reporters in December. “Some will say that is not ‘politically correct.’” I don’t care. Their country is no good for a reason.”
