Dr. Phil is Embedded With ICE to Watch Deportation Raids Go Down in Chicago: ‘It’s a Pretty High-Risk Mission That We’re Going On’

Dr. Phil McGraw advocated for sanctuary cities giving ICE access to illegal migrants — just before he joined officers on deportation raids in Chicago.

President Donald Trump’s border czar Tom Homan has promised to implement nationwide deportation raids of illegal migrants. Trump’s administration will use the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 in order to deport millions of illegal migrants.

Dr. Phil has embedded with ICE and Homan to watch them conduct deportation raids in Chicago — a sanctuary city. The television host noted that if sanctuary cities allow ICE to grab illegal migrants it can be done “in complete safety” within a “controlled environment.”

“It’s a pretty high-risk mission that we’re going on,” Dr. Phil said in one video.

He added in a subsequent clip:

The problem that we have with some of the pushback that ICE has been getting from sanctuary cities is they’re saying, no, we don’t want to cooperate with you. We don’t want to give you access to some of the people that we may have arrested that may be in jails. You need to go get warrants and we may give bail to these people. We may have a no bail situation and have them in for a time and turn them back out.

And here’s the point that ICE has made, and I think it’s a good one. If these people are in detention and ICE agents can come into the jail and arrest them there and put them on the path towards deportation, at that point, they can that they can do that in complete safety.

It’s a controlled environment. Whereas tomorrow, later today actually, we’re going to have to go after these people out in a in a free environment where an apartment complex or an apartment project where there are a lot of civilians around. And if they resist, if if they open fire on these agents, you have to return fire. Then people can get caught in the crossfire. If a car chase ensues, things can happen where people are put at risk if they’re turned over while they’re in jail, all of that goes away.
