NBC Reporter Confronts Trump Aide Over Claims Of ‘Fraud’ and ‘Theft’ On Way Out of Briefing

A hot mic caught NBC News White House correspondent Peter Alexander putting Trump Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller on the spot over claims of “theft” and fraud that were made at the briefing.

President Donald Trump and DOGE czar Elon Musk have made a raft of false claims to promote and justify Musk’s actions, and have made repeated allegations of fraud for which journalists continue to request proof.

At Wednesday’s White House press briefing, Trump White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt was joined by guest speakers National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, White House National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett Director, and Miller.

During his remarks, Miller ratcheted up the claims by citing “theft” and “corruption” that he alleges are being rooted out:

STEPHEN MILLER: Of course, he has undertaken a historic cost cutting effort across the federal government, launching the first ever Department of Government Efficiency.

Uncovering corruption on a scale that we never thought imaginable. Terminating every single federal worker that we that we have found to be engaged in the corruption and theft and the waste of taxpayer dollars.

And already saving $50 billion in a single year, which over a ten year period would be $500 billion. Just think about how vast and enormous that sum is.

Of course, as you all know, he has renamed the Gulf of Mexico to his correct and proper name, the Gulf of America…

But after the briefing wrapped and the pool mic was still hot, Alexander challenged Miller by asking if the fraud being claimed will result in “indictments” — and was told to make an appointment:

APRIL RYAN: Are you going to the Black History Month reception, Mr. Miller?

PETER ALEXANDER: Should we expect indictments, are there indictments coming for all the fraud we found?

STEPHEN MILLER: I’d love to follow up with you. Just set up a time with Karoline.
