JD Vance Admits He’s a ‘Mad UFO Lunatic,’ Reveals Marco Rubio ‘Very Interested’ in Topic
Vice President JD Vance revealed he is a big UFO fanatic and wants to “dig into” the topic of aliens more, while also saying Secretary of State Marco Rubio is “very interested” in UFOs as well.
The vice president discussed his interest in aliens during an appearance on New York Post columnist Miranda Devine’s Pod Force One podcast on Wednesday.
Devine, before the interview wrapped up, told Vance she is a “mad UFO lunatic” — and Vance quickly said “me too.” The columnist then asked Vance about a comment from August on the Ruthless podcast where he said he was going to figure out the whole UFO-alien thing; Devine asked if he had indeed got to the bottom of it, two months later.
“That was a little tongue in cheek, I have not figured it out yet. I haven’t had the time to figure it out yet,” Vance said.
“But you’ve got access to all this classified [information],” Devine followed up.
“I do, and I really want to sort of dig into it. You know, Marco is actually very interested in this too, and we talked about this back in our Senate days. So there’s certainly an interest, certainly an intrigue, but, I haven’t yet had the time to really dig in. Things have been so busy.”
Vance continued by saying, like many others, he occasionally puts the “tin foil hat” on and wonders whether the government is covering up UFO and/or alien information.
“I can’t allow myself to become so busy that I spend the next three years and I don’t get to the bottom of this,” Vance said. “I will get to the bottom of this, but it’s going to take me a little time.”
Devine continued on the topic by saying National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard believed aliens exist.
Vance said he wouldn’t say whether he does or does not believe in aliens, but that he is open to supernatural forces existing.
“I’m a big believer that there are things out there we can’t explain,” Vance said. “And so, if another person sees an alien, maybe I see an angel or a demon. So I’m a big believer there are spiritual forces working on the physical world that a lot of us don’t see, and a lot of us don’t understand, and a lot of us don’t appreciate.”
He added that, whether it is aliens or guardian angels or more nefarious beings, he is focused on saying his prayers at night and hoping for the best.
Other noteworthy moments from Vance’s interview with Devine include him talking about potentially running for president alongside his “best friend” Rubio in 2028. President Donald Trump on Monday said he believed a Vance-Rubio ticket would be “unstoppable.”
