JUST IN: Trump Says Iran Wants Ceasefire, But US Will Keep ‘Blasting Iran Into Oblivion’ Until Strait of Hormuz Is Open

President Donald Trump took to Truth Social on Wednesday morning to report that Iran’s “new regime president” has asked for a ceasefire.

In the Truth post, the president said:

Iran’s New Regime President, much less Radicalized and far more intelligent than his predecessors, has just asked the United States of America for a CEASEFIRE! We will consider when Hormuz Strait is open, free, and clear. Until then, we are blasting Iran into oblivion or, as they say, back to the Stone Ages!!! President DJT

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth reposted the Truth on X/Twitter and included a saluting emoji.

Iran has previously denied it is seeking a ceasefire. As noted in a report from the Associated Press, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Tuesday vowed that his country will continue fighting and that “we do not set any deadline for defending ourselves.”

The Truth Social post came hours before the president was set to give a major address to the nation on Wednesday night.
