President Donald Trump’s administration will reportedly limit sharing classified information to Congress in response to the Iran leak that the president insists is false.

On Tuesday, CNN published an exclusive report alleging that the U.S. strikes in Iran did not destroy the nuclear facilities that were targeted. According to sources briefed on the intelligence, the strikes only set Iran’s nuclear program back by “months.”

The Trump administration quickly denied the report, calling it “flat-out wrong” and that the supposed leaker was a “low-level loser in the intelligence community.”

The next day, Trump took to Truth Social to continue his attacks. In a post, he singled out CNN’s Natasha Bertrand — one of the authors of the report — and called on CNN to fire her for “doing Fake News.”

“She lied on the Laptop from Hell Story, and now she lied on the Nuclear Sites Story, attempting to destroy our Patriot Pilots by making them look bad when, in fact, they did a GREAT job and hit ‘pay dirt’ — TOTAL OBLITERATION!”

Shortly before that post, however, Axios reported that the Trump administration would begin to limit Congress’s access to classified information. The report continued:

The leaking of the preliminary Defense Intelligence Agency’s “Battle Damage Assessment” outraged Trump and top U.S. officials, who said it was incomplete and that its release was aimed at undercutting Trump’s claims that Iran’s nuclear sites had been “obliterated.”

The Trump administration will specifically limit access to CAPNET, the system used to share information with members of Congress.
