JD Vance Gushes Over Trump’s Joke: ‘Amazing Comedic Timing! There Are Layers To It’

Vice President JD Vance gushed over one of President Donald Trump’s jokes on Wednesday, praising the “amazing comedic timing” and “layers” to his humor.

During a live “Make America Healthy Again” discussion with Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Vance said:

I don’t know if you saw this video circulating on social media, but the president met some– uh, met the president of Syria, Al-Sharaa, in the Oval Office a couple of days ago and, you know, he asked him, he was like, “Well how many wives do you have?” Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! And it’s just like, oh what an amazing question. Amazing comedic timing! There are layers to it, there’s like a metahumor to it, just anyway. But we’ve got a lot of good humor in the cabinet.

Trump jokingly asked Al-Qaeda jihadist-turned-Syrian President Ahmed Hussein al-Sharaa “how many wives” he had during a meeting in the Oval Office this week.

After the Syrian president replied, “One,” Trump mocked, “With you guys, I never know.”

Trump also reportedly sprayed Al-Sharaa with a bottle of perfume, which he called “the best fragrance.”

Following the meeting, Trump wrote in a Truth Social post that it had been “an Honor” to host the foreign leader, who previously fought against American troops in Iraq and was designated a “Global Terrorist” by the U.S. State Department.

“It was an Honor to spend time with Ahmed Hussein al-Sharaa, the new President of Syria, where we discussed all the intricacies of PEACE in the Middle East, of which he is a major advocate,” Trump said. “I look forward to meeting and speaking again. Everyone is talking about the Great Miracle that is taking place in the Middle East. Having a stable and successful Syria is very important to all countries in the Region.”
