Trump Springs to Biden’s Defense, Blames Staffers for Trying to ‘Destroy’ America: ‘TREASON’

President Donald Trump issued a shocking defense of former President Joe Biden and took aim at the Democrat’s ex-staffers for “TREASON,” accusing them of exploiting the president’s cognitive decline using an “autopen” to “open borders.”
In an uncharacteristically sympathetic message, posted Tuesday on Truth Social, Trump defended the 82-year-old former president, now battling late-stage prostate cancer, saying Biden “was not for Open Borders” and “never talked about Open Borders, where criminals of all kinds, shapes, and sizes, can flow into our Country at will.”
Trump instead placed blame squarely on Biden’s inner circle, who, he claimed, used the president’s cognitive limitations to take control of decision-making.
In a Tuesday Truth Social post, he wrote:
Joe Biden was not for Open Borders, he never talked about Open Borders, where criminals of all kinds, shapes, and sizes, can flow into our Country at will. It wasn’t his idea to Open the Border, and almost destroy our Country, and cost us Hundreds of Billions of Dollars to get criminals out of our Country, and go through the process we are going through now. It was the people that knew he was cognitively impaired, and that took over the Autopen. They stole the Presidency of the United States, and put us in Great Danger. This is TREASON at the Highest Level! They did it to destroy our Country. The Joe Biden that everybody knew would never allow drug dealers, gang members, and the mentally insane to come into our Country totally unchecked and unvetted. All anyone has to do is look up his record. Something very severe should happen to these Treasonous Thugs that wanted to destroy our Country, but couldn’t, because I came along. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!
The former president’s remarks come as Republicans escalate scrutiny over the use of autopen to sign executive orders during Biden’s term—an automated device used by many presidents, including Trump, but now at the centre of GOP conspiracy theories about whether he understood what he was authorizing.
House Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) said the Biden White House blocked efforts to subpoena three key aides regarding the device. Comer accused the administration of obstructing the probe and refusing to make the aides available for testimony.
While Trump has previously criticized Biden for the southern border crisis by branding it “Biden’s invasion,” this pivot signals a new messaging strategy: absolving the president himself and turning the heat onto the Democratic apparatus around him.
