WATCH: Vivek Ramaswamy Booed Off Stage by Libertarian Crowd: ‘Get the F*ck Out of Here’

There was no home-field advantage for Vivek Ramaswamy when he tried to speak to a convention of libertarians this week.

The Ohio gubernatorial candidate was forced to flee the stage at the Young Americans for Liberty convention on Wednesday night after he was mercilessly booed by the angry crowd.

The unceremonious exit came in the midst of Ramaswamy’s scheduled 30-minute speech at Xavier University in Cincinnati, where he was one of the top speakers of the night, second only to gun-rights advocate and YouTuber Brandon Herrera, who is running for state office in Texas.

Ramaswamy, who was born in Cincinnati, was about halfway through his speech when he told the audience, “The truth of the matter is, you know no matter what happens, whichever direction we go, people of my generation have already made it. We’re gonna be fine,” video posted to X showed.

“It’s going to be your generation,” he said, struggling to continue as boos began bubbling up.

The video cuts before a man can be heard shouting at Ramaswamy.

“You’re a political freak,” the man screams. “You need to get the f*ck out of here!”

The crowd loudly cheers and boos as Ramaswamy, 40, then turns tail and leaves the stage, the clip, posted to X on Friday, showed.

The footage quickly racked up more than 2.7 million views.

The failed presidential candidate, who tried to run for the White House in 2024 before bowing out, was then appointed to co-lead the controversial Department of Governmental Efficiency (DOGE), which became notorious for unscrupulously slashing massive amounts of federal spending.

He left DOGE in January 2025. Ramaswamy then launched his bid to become governor of Ohio, where incumbent Mike DeWine (R) is term-limited, a month later.

Despite earning DeWine’s endorsement, Ramaswamy was trailing Democrat Amy Acton in the reliably red state, a poll released last month showed.
