‘This Is All Shady Sh*t!’ Stephen A. Smith Unloads on Dr. Fauci After Hearing

Stephen A. Smith blasted Democrats and accused Dr. Anthony Fauci of “shady sh*t” following a Senate hearing where the former director of the the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases invoked the Fifth Amendment more than 100 times.

On his Straight Shooter show, Smith played a 2022 clip of Fauci saying he’s “very happy” to testify because he has “nothing to hide.” Fauci did testify this week and he refused to answer questions on Covid-19 lockdown measures and more from fiery Republicans.

Smith praised Fauci for his decades of public service and “impeccable credentials,” but “that don’t make you flawless,” he said, adding:

There is no question that imperfections stain him right now. This was not a good day for Dr. Fauci. He looks very bad, very bad. And yes, through the advice of his lawyers, and yes, your lawyers compel you to do something, and they probably wanted him to plead the Fifth on many occasions before he finally relented and did it yesterday but the bottom line is this man held dominion over the lives of a nation, if not the world, with what he was imploring and mandating. Everybody was listening to him!

He then laid into Fauci over pandemic-era measures like masking and social distancing:

Fauci was damn-near encouraging us to wear two, three masks at a time. We barely could breathe. How about the six-foot social distancing? We can’t ignore that. Where’d he get that from? He later admitted that it wasn’t backed by science. He’s just coming up with this stuff! The lockdowns, the natural immunities, the vaccine’s ability to prevent infection and transmission… This is all shady sh*t! It is! And the Democrats have nothing to say.

After hours of not answering questions, Fauci was warned by Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), who chaired the hearing, that there will be a vote next week to hold him in contempt of Congress. Legal experts have given mixed reactions to whether that will actually hold up in court.
