‘Shannon, F*ck You!’ Popular Streamer Rages After Shannon Sharpe Mocks His Height During NBA Dunk Contest
Popular streamer Kai Kenat went off on Shannon Sharpe following the analyst’s comments about his participation in the NBA Slam Dunk Contest.
Sharpe, like most of the sports world, was disappointed with most of the events during All-Star Weekend. The Dunk Contest, traditionally viewed as the most exciting Saturday night event, lacked creativity and flare and even drew boos from the Indianapolis crowd.
Cenat was included in one of the dunks of Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown. For the dunk, Cenat was instructed to sit in a chair under the room. Then, Celtics teammate Jayson Tatum stood right next to Cenat. As Brown ran toward the two, Tatum lopped the ball up to him and Brown dunked while jumping over Cenat.
The dunk was bad for multiple reasons.
The first was the fact that it wasn’t really impressive in 2024. On the same night, Brown’s fellow contestants jumped over NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal — who stands at 7-foot-2. By comparison, jumping over someone in a chair just isn’t noteworthy.
The second was the person chosen for the dunk. Cenat, who stands well below six feet tall, is short. With him sitting down, he wasn’t much of an obstacle for Brown to clear. Considering how athletic Brown is, he’s likely cleared similar heights during in-game dunks.
On Monday’s episode of First Take, Sharpe joked that Cenat was only “three foot tall” and that sitting down made him 1-foot-5.
Cenat watched the clip on his livestream later that day and lost it.
“Oh, fuck you, Shannon!” Cenat said after watching the clip. “Oh, fuck no! I didn’t know you said this shit! Shannon, fuck you!”
Then, it dawned on Cenat that Sharpe made the comments on the nationally-televised First Take.
“Is this national TV?” a jokingly distraught Cenat said. “What the fuck. No, no, no, no, no… Is this national TV?”
That night, Sharpe watched the reaction with former NFL star Chad Johnson on their podcast Nightcap. After some uncontrollable laughter, Sharpe clarified that he wasn’t taking a dig at Cenat. He was simply making a point about other contestants jumping over much taller people.
Cenat later joined the show and claimed he’s 5-foot-9. Sharpe wasn’t buying it.
