Nancy Grace Tops Cable News As Eliot Spitzer’s In The Arena Hits Bottom

Cable news ratings, June 17, 2011:

•Friday night saw two sister networks on opposite ends of the ratings spectrum, with HLN–dominated by coverage of the Casey Anthony murder trial–grabbing the night’s highest-rated cable news show (among viewers 25-54) with Nancy Grace (524,000 viewers in the demo–beating Fox News’ O’Reilly Factor with substitute host Laura Ingraham, which had 453,000), as CNN’s Eliot Spitzer-led In the Arena hit the lowest average rating of any show in prime time, with just 61,000 viewers.

HLN was the top-rated network among viewers 25-54 in prime, beating Fox, with CNN in fourth place. Among total viewers, Fox was in first, followed by HLN.

•In other interesting matchups, HLN’s Dr. Drew took first place at 9 p.m. in the demo (422,000), beating Fox’s Hannity (351,000) and Fox’s Greta Van Susteren held on to first place at 10 p.m. by just 1,000 viewers 25-54, beating HLN’s Joy Behar.
