Outnumbered Panel Lauds Trump’s Appearance at Daytona 500: ‘He’s Bringing Back the American Spirit!’
The panel of Fox News’s Outnumbered praised President Donald Trump for his appearance at NASCAR’s Dayton 500 over the weekend.
Trump on Sunday received a warm welcome at the most iconic event on the NASCAR calendar. In addition to being interviewed ahead of the race, the president — seated within the presidential car known as “The Beast” — led the drivers during ceremonial laps around the oval. He even addressed them on the radio, wishing them luck and introducing himself as “your favorite president.”
On Monday’s episode of Outnumbered, the panel buzzed with excitement over the Trump’s latest appearance as a major sports event.
“It was all America, all day,” host Emily Compagno said. “It was phenomenal. We had encore fighter jets. It was so amazing to see, again, President Trump attending America’s race, The Beast doing the laps, and then being there on the track because he’s one of the people; and that was the message. That was the symbolism there of the great race.”
Kennedy, host of the podcast Kennedy Saves the World, joked that if Joe Biden won the election, the crowd would have chanted, “Let’s go, Brandon.”
“This is their president,” Kennedy said, “this was his moment, and he got, by far, the biggest applause of the day when they showed him on the big screen. And it is only right that a sitting president goes and meets the people who love this country. They love motor sports, and it’s a fantastic marriage; so it was well-executed.”
Kayleigh McEnany then put into perspective the gravity of the moment by pointing out the fact that Trump was nearly assassinated and faced criminal charges over hush money payments.
“A bullet grazed President Trump’s ear in Butler, Pennsylvania,” she said. “He almost lost his life at his Florida golf course. Thanks to the heroic work of Secret Service, he did not; and I bring that up because there’s a temptation to sequester in the Oval Office. He’s not doing that. He’s also not up for reelection, so what is his motive here in doing this? He doesn’t need to win another election. He’s doing this because he loves the American people and he’s bringing back the American spirit.
“And when you really think about how remarkable this turn of events is, I think about one year ago from Saturday. This was the headline. It was [an] Associated Press headline. ‘Trump’s new hush money case will start March 21 in his first criminal trial.’ So think about this. This man was undergoing criminal trials one year ago today — just about to the date — and today he’s triumphant, 53% approval on CBS, being applauded. Yes, Daytona loves President Trump; but nationwide, he has breached majority approval rating in almost every single poll I’ve seen.”
Harris Faulkner then explained why, to her, Trump is reshaping both major political parties with public appearances like the one on Sunday.
“If you’re a Democrat right now, you’re worried,” Faulkner said, “because he’s popular, he’s moving and grooving very quickly, and he’s out. He’s willing to go places where, ‘I don’t know, the other guy didn’t go, Joe Biden.’ ‘Other presidents haven’t gone to Super Bowls,’ so on and so forth. I think this is a real moment for the Republican Party.”
