‘Poor Mr. Pillow!’ Joe Scarborough Delights in News of Mike Lindell’s Revealing He’s Broke

Schadenfreude is not usually the best look in cable news, but Joe Scarborough’s reaction to news of Mike Lindell revealing he is broke might be the rare exception.

The attorneys representing the MyPillow founder in defense against the defamation lawsuits filed by Smartmatic and Dominion Voting Systems have filed a motion to withdraw, alleging that their client hasn’t paid their legal bills in months and owes them “millions of dollars.”

In the aftermath of the 2020 election, former President Donald Trump and his allies promulgated a staggering quantity of misinformation, wild claims, conspiracy theories, and flat-out lies about the election being stolen by fraud to benefit Joe Biden — including making baseless accusations that the election machine technology from Smartmatic and Dominion were part of a wide-ranging effort to change Trump votes to Biden.

“Poor Mr. Pillow,” Scarborough noted after Mika Brzezinski introduced the news. He then went on a funny rant about the lessons he learned from his grandfather that elicited laughs from at least one viewer.

You know, he didn’t learn the lesson that my grandfather taught me, says Joey, if you’re going to start a business selling lumpy pillows, you shouldn’t sell lumpy, he said. No, but my granddad said. But if you are. Yeah, said just make sure at the same time you don’t spread a lot of conspiracy theories and try to do your part to overturn American democracy in a bad mix. That was one thing that he told me, that that was like number two. Number one was don’t go swimming right after big meal. So there are a lot of things. These are some basics, right? Yeah. Will it will. His grandfather told him the same thing. These are just some basics. You do it. Please don’t get cramps or you go bankrupt. Yeah. And I mean, really, does this guy not have a granddad to tell him to stop?

Laughs were had. Willie Geist joined in on the frivolity. Poor Mr. Pilllow, indeed.
