Trump Gets Annoyed at Reporter Because ‘I Can’t Understand a Word He’s Saying’

President Donald Trump was visibly annoyed Thursday evening during his joint media conference with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi when he could not understand a question from a reporter.

Trump eventually gave up on attempting to field the man’s question and moved on, exclaiming, “I can’t understand a word he’s saying.”

“Please go ahead,” Trump said. “Please go ahead. Yeah, Yeah. Blue shirt.”

The man asked a question, presumably about Tahawwur Hussain Rana, a Pakistani national and accused terrorist Trump recently cleared for extradition to India:

Thank you, Mr. President. People in India will naturally welcome your decision to extradite the subordinate to India back home. In that context, I would like to ask you a question about in the last few years, we have seen several groups in the U.S. being raising anti-India voice calling about separation terrorism activities in India. Do you think that should continue here in the U.S. as well?

Trump replied, “You’re going to have to go louder.”

When the man repeated his question, Trump said, “I can’t understand a word he’s saying.”

It was unclear if Trump had difficulty understanding the man’s accent or if there was an audio issue. The moment came a week after Trump shared a similar one with an Afghani reporter and told her to “live in peace.”

Last week, Afghan White House journalist Nazira Karimi asked Trump a question about U.S. plans for the country.

“It’s a beautiful voice and a beautiful accent,” Trump said. “Only problem is I can’t understand a word you’re saying. But, but I just say this. Good luck, live in peace.”
