New audio appears to show Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, lamenting his problems, including his father’s calls to a former business partner and calls from reporters asking about his alleged representation of a former Chinese spy chief.
The audio, which allegedly came from a file on Hunter Biden’s old laptop, titled, “Most Genius S–t Ever,” was released Tuesday by The National Pulse’s Natalie Winters and Raheem Kassam. In it, he can be heard complaining:
I get calls from my father to tell me that The New York Times is calling, but my old partner, Eric, who literally has done me harm for I don’t know how long, is the one taking the calls because my father will not stop sending the calls to Eric. I have another New York Times reporter calling about my representation of Patrick Ho – the fucking spy chief of China who started the company that my partner, who is worth $323 billion, founded and is now missing. The richest man in the world is missing who was my partner. He was missing since I last saw him in his $58 million apartment inside a $4 billion deal to build the f–king largest f–king LNG port in the world. And I am receiving calls from the Southern District of New York from the U.S. attorney himself. My best friend in business, Devon, has named me as a witness, without telling me, in a criminal case — and my father, without telling me.
Biden’s comment about a missing business partner is apparently in reference to Ye Jianming, the founder and former chairman of CEFC China Energy, a company at the center of allegations related to the younger Biden’s business dealings. Ye has not been seen since he was detained in China in March 2018 on charges related to bribery.
The man Biden apparently referred to as a former spy chief, Patrick Ho, is a former secretary for home affairs in Hong Kong. He was arrested in New York in 2017 on charges of money laundering and bribing officials in Uganda and in Chad on behalf of CEFC. He was convicted on seven federal counts related to those charges in 2018.
It isn’t clear when the audio was recorded, but it was allegedly included in a trove of files exfiltrated from a damaged Apple laptop Biden left at a Delaware repair shop in 2019.
