Reports indicate that there is a HuffPo staff meeting expected for 11 a.m. Thursday. In a statement, Huffington says that she has become “obsessed” with her new company Thrive, which will become her primary focus when it launches in November.
“It is you who make HuffPost what is it,” the media magnate said on Twitter moments ago:
To everyone at HuffPost: it’s you who make HuffPost what it is. I’m filled with gratitude to all the colleagues and friends I’ve made here.

Huffington — along with several other media partners — launched HuffPo in 2005 as the digital destination for news, politics, and lifestyle. It is one of the most heavily trafficked sites anywhere on the internet, and Huffington has continued serving as active Editor-in-Chief. The Greece-born entrepreneur has been one of the most influential figures on the media landscape.
According to HuffPo senior media reporter Michael Calderone, Huffington’s Thrive focuses on lifestyle, wellness, and sleep, issues that the businesswoman have taken to heart in recent years. Earlier this year she authored The Sleep Revolution: Transforming Your Life, One Night at a Time, and has been open about how sleep deprivation in her past negatively affected her performance and day-to-day. In 2014 she wrote Thrive: The Third Metric to Redefining Success and Creating a Life of Well-Being, Wisdom, and Wonder. The website Celebrity Net Worth values Huffington’s personal value at $50 million.
