CNN’s Gupta Rips Anti-Vax ‘Lunacy’: ‘Insulting’ to Say You’re Protecting Kids

CNN’s Dr. Sanjay Gupta wrote an op-ed for yesterday about anti-vaccine “lunacy” and the ridiculousness of saying the science on vaccines is just an opinion.

Gupta expresses his frustration with the very idea of something listing facts about vaccines being considered an op-ed. He writes, “There are some topics that seem to lend themselves appropriately to opinion pages… The benefit of vaccines is not a matter of opinion. It is a matter of fact.”

Yesterday Gupta decried Rand Paul‘s dangerous “pandering” on vaccines, and made it clear in his online post this is something he takes very seriously:

The anti-vaccination argument is often snugly wrapped in the “I love my kids” sentiment. And, I find it, well, a little insulting.

To suggest that anyone who vaccinates their kids doesn’t love them is a whole new level of lunacy.
