Colbert Hijacks RNC Stage to Declare the True Start of the ‘Hungry for Power Games’
Stephen Colbert is in Cleveland to cover the Republican National Convention this week, and it seems he decided to pull off a prank while things were still getting set up at the Quicken Loans Arena.
The Late Show will be doing live coverage of the convention’s festivities, and Colbert toured the arena over the weekend to get the lay of the land and have a bit of mischief along the way.

However, the real attention-grabber came when Colbert got on the main stage and pulled off a brief skit comparing the convention to The Hunger Games.
Late Show fans will recognize Colbert in the Caesar Flickerman get-up he wears whenever he launches into his notorious “Hungry for Power Games” bit. Colbert adopted the persona to swipe at Donald Trump and Mike Pence at the lectern, only to be confronted by security after commencing the latest stage of the “Games.”

“Look, I know I’m not supposed to be up here,” Colbert says to the security man, “but to be honest, neither is Donald Trump.”
