‘Governor Pritzker, CALL!!!’ Trump Warns Chicago Will ‘Die’ Without Help from Federal ‘Crime Fighting Machine’

President Donald Trump warned Chicago will “die” unless its Democratic leaders call in the federal government to tackle violent crime, escalating his feud with Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker, weeks before a planned visit to the area.

Trump unleashed on the city in an early Tuesday morning Truth Social post, claiming violence was “unchecked” and demanding Pritzker seek his help.

“Chicago violence is unchecked and at record levels. It has never been worse! This weekend 41 people were shot, 3 DEAD. These numbers are becoming normalized. It is out of control!” Trump wrote.

“The city will die if the Federal Government, a fine tuned crime fighting machine, is not invited in, by the Mayor or Governor, to HELP. I am awaiting the call.”

Trump went on to insist residents should not be “forced to live under these conditions,” while claiming his administration could rapidly drive down crime if invited to intervene.

“Like D.C. and others, they will have almost no crime, FAST! The State and City can’t do what I do. Governor Pritzker, CALL!!! President DONALD J. TRUMP,” he added.

For almost a year, Trump has called for the city to allow the deployment of National Guard troops, as he has done in other American cities, to fight crime. The policy has led to multiple court challenges and a tense war of words between local leaders and the president.

The president’s message came just hours after Pritzker sharpened his own attacks on Trump ahead of the president’s expected trip to the Chicago area later this month.

“He is neither wanted here nor needed here,” Pritzker said in a statement on Monday.

He continued: “But if he is going to spend time in DuPage County, he can leave the country club and explain to Illinoisans why his tariffs have made groceries, electricity, and everything else too damned expensive.”

Trump revealed over the weekend that he had been asked by the PGA TOUR to serve as honorary chairman of the Presidents Cup, which is scheduled to begin on Sept. 24 at Medinah Country Club’s Course No. 3.

The role will bring Trump to the Chicago area and sets up a potentially combustible visit after months of clashes between the White House and Illinois’ Democratic leadership.

Pritzker has emerged as one of Trump’s most outspoken Democratic antagonists, while the president has repeatedly targeted Democratic-run cities over crime and pushed federal intervention as the answer.
